Later that night...

Dave

"Tanya, where the hell are we going?" I asked.

Despite me really wanting to stay home, Tanya forced me to get dressed to go out. She blindfolded me and made me get in the car while she drove to some unknown location. I wasn't really big on surprises so I was getting really frustrated.

"Tanya." I heard her sigh but she stayed silent and continued driving. "Baby, wh-"

"David Khamere, I would really appreciate it if you would just shut up and wait until we get where we're going."

"But how will I know when we get there?"

"I'll tell you, Dave." She said, agitated. "Now can you please shut up."

"But Tanya-"

"If you make me cuss in front of Daniel, I know something. Say one more thing before this car is put in park and I promise you, I'll push you out into traffic."

She sounded serious so I stayed quiet. Finally, after twenty minutes of driving, the car was put in park. I heard the driver's door open and close back. Then, I heard the backseat door open and shuffling before it was closed back. My door opened and I felt my seatbelt being taken off.

"You couldn't have taken off the seatbelt?" Tanya asked.

"Nope."

"Take off the blindfold and get out the damn car."

I did as she said and saw that we were at my favorite restaurant: Burgers and Brew. I know, it's basic but I like what I like. Closing the car door, we entered the restaurant as she locked the car. When we got in, the place was basically empty minus my friends and Bianca with big ass grins on their faces.

"Happy birthday!" They yelled when they saw me.

We walked over to the huge table that I'm pretty sure was just separate tables put together and exchanged hugs and whatnot. I looked over to Tanya and she smiled at me while holding Danny's hand. I bent down to him and smiled.

"You planned this for me, little man?" I asked.

"Yeah." He nodded. "Mommy just helped."

I chuckled as Tanya made a face and shook her head. Kissing his forehead, I stood up and smiled at Tanya.

"Thank you, baby."

"No problem." She shrugged. "Okay, sit down."

The seating arrangements were as expected: Danny was between me and Tanya, Kianna and Rashad sat next to Carrie and Randy, Tariq sat next to Ty, Carrie's brother and his girlfriend sat next to Bianca and Sean and then there were two extra seats left. I assumed those were for my mom and somebody else.

There was a bit of tension between Bianca and Tanya since they were seated across from each other. Every time Bianca would look at Tanya, Tanya would sense it and roll her eyes. Other than that, everybody was engaged in their own little conversations.

Three waiters came over and started passing out menus and coasters.

"Welcome to Burgers and Brew. Can I start you all off with something to drink?" One of them said.

Everybody stated their drinks and all decided that more time was needed before the food was ordered. The three waiters walked off and I tapped Tanya's thigh.

"Wassup?" She asked.

"Where's my mom?"

"On her way. She got stuck in traffic."
