V

A couple days later...

Tanya

"Ready, Danny?" I whispered.

"Ready." He whispered back.

We tiptoed into the room and I pointed to the bed. Today was Dave's birthday and Daniel and I decided to surprise him with breakfast in bed. Daniel climbed on the bed and jumped on Dave's back.

"Happy birthday, daddy!" He yelled.

Dave chuckled, in pain from the impact. He turned his head and looked at me, smiling. He rolled over and playfully laid on Daniel without putting too much pressure on him. Daniel laughed uncontrollably and squirmed underneath Dave. After a while, Dave sat up and Daniel sat up next to him.

"Happy birthday." I said, bringing him the tray of food.

With Daniel's assistance, I made eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes. There was also a glass of orange juice on the tray. He took the tray from me and kissed me. I went to the other side of the bed and got in next to Daniel.

"Thank you." He said, kissing Danny's forehead before eating.

Despite Daniel and I already eating, Dave still shared his food with us. We finished eating and I took Danny downstairs while Dave brushed his teeth and showered.

"What do you wanna do today?" I asked Daniel.

"I don't know." He shrugged.

Danny sat on the floor while I sat on the couch. I started to feel a bit uncomfortable but decided to just brush it off. My doctor already let me know that around this time, I would start having minor contractions.

"You wanna watch a movie?"

"Yeah."

I gave him the remote and let him flip through on demand until he found whatever he wanted to watch. He, eventually, decided to watch Big Hero 6. Dave came downstairs and sat down next to me.

"So, what are we doing today?" He asked.

"I'm taking you out."

"Out where?"

"Just out." I said.

In reality, I had a surprise party planned for Dave. It was a dinner party at his favorite restaurant. I invited his mom and Bianca despite me wanting to punch that bitch in her face. Of course, our usual friend group would be there with the addition of Carrie's brother, his girlfriend, and my brothers. I also managed to get Dave's dad to come.

I had never met his dad but his mom had recently got back in contact with him. When I found out, I convinced her to invite him to the party. I'm not exactly sure how he'll react to it but from what Ms. Leslie has been telling me, he shouldn't be too upset.

"I'd rather stay home with you and little man."

"Well, I didn't ask you what you'd rather do." I said, kissing his cheek and standing up.

"Still having contractions?" He asked.

"Yeah, just minor ones though."

"My boy is ready to come out."

"I'm ready for him to come out." I mumbled.

I went in the kitchen and looked through the pantry. Grabbing two packs of fruit snacks, I went back to the living room and gave one to Daniel.

"Thank you." He said.

I sat back down. "You're welcome."

"You never know, maybe he'll come tonight."
