Sean

"Everything should be in the bags."

"Alright." I said, grabbing the two bags and the car seat .

Today I was at Dave's house getting the kids for Tanya. It had been about two weeks since Tanya left to stay with Tariq. Dave had called me right after she left and told me everything that happened. He never told me about the cheating because he knew I couldn't lie to Tanya. Since then, the two haven't seen each other. The friend group found out about what happened and have been playing mediator. It was now my day.

"Can you give her this too?"

He handed me an envelope. "What's this?"

"Some money for the boys and/or the baby."

"Yeah, I got you." I said. "How you holding up?"

He shrugged. "It's hard, man."

"I'm sure." I mumbled.

"Yeah, but thanks again. I'll holla at you later."

"Alright."

He hugged and kissed the boys before closing the door. I sighed and walked with Danny to my truck. Opening the door, I put the car seat in and secured it then helped Danny in and buckled it up. I closed the door and went over to my side and got in. Starting up the car, I backed out the driveway and pulled off.

When I got to Tariq's place, I got everything and everybody out the truck. Danny ran up to the door and knocked while I stood behind him. The door opened and Tanya immediately bent down with her arms stretched open, smiling.

"Mommy!" Danny yelled, running into her arms.

"Hi, munchkin." She said, hugging him. "Hey, Sean."

"Wassup, Tanya."

She stood up and Danny ran inside. I handed her the two bags and the car seat .

"Thank you. Come in."

She walked further into the house and I came in, closing the door.

"How you doing?" I asked.

"I'm good." She said, sitting down and taking Dre out the car seat .

"Oh, uh, Dave wanted me to give you this."

I pulled out the envelope and gave it to her. "Money?"

"Yeah."

She nodded and placed it on the coffee table. "Thanks."

"I wanna talk to you and him about something."

"Together?"

"Preferably."

"Why?"

"Tanya, y'all aren't five. You can be pissed at him til the day you die, but at some point, you need to be the adult that you claim to be and talk to him in terms of y'all kids."

"I just can't find the strength to look at him right now."

"And that's understandable, Tanya. This middleman shit, though, is not gone work. Not just for me, for everybody. Of course, we don't mind helping out with the kids but what are you gonna do when nobody can be the mediator. You're pregnant with your second child and this is Dave's third. At what point do you grow up?" She stayed silent. "I'm not tryna scold you or some shit, but nobody else is gonna say it to you now because they know you're hurting. I plan on telling Dave the same thing."

"Okay." She mumbled.

"I'll see you later. I love you, Tanya."
