Confusion

"One thing you should've learned by now Loki is  never to mess with The Avengers" Peter said he turned to Tony who was kneeling concerned at his kind-of sob while the others huddled around their kind-of nephew  "give him hell!" Peter shouted They all nodded vigorously (they were planning to), "I promise, ..no I vow to never let this happen to you again Peter" Tony said sincerely standing to join the others, Peter just nodded, they slowly advanced towards Loki letting all the anger they had hidden display upon their faces and show with their actions Loki  on the other side of the room was starting to regret, just the tiniest bit, involving Peter in all this! He wouldn't say he was retreating but, he definitely wasn't moving forward as the avengers marched at him forming a semi-circle around him leaving him little to no room to run, Natasha whipped her back checking on peter he was still there still broken looking down her heart wrenched but she had to look away she simply COULD NOT let Loki escape and just as Loki was about to hit the wall he vanished "good choice " Tony retorted,• God it felt good to say that• "scaredy cat!" Hulk roared before returning back  to Dr Banner, The attention immediately re-focused back to Peter who was looking down figuratively and literally he had a big bruise on his left cheek ,unsurprisingly from all the hits, and a small one forming on his right his eyes had lost the spark and his voice when he spoke trembled with uncertainty. "Peter how are you feeling?" Clint asked gaining face-plants and eye rolls from the rest of the avengers peter didn't answer, he didn't even look up he just... sat there
" I know I know stupid question" Peter still didn't move  "Peter  I know you're scared but it's okay we're here now it's over" Bruce said
Peter said and did nothing
"Peter we can go for ice cream?" Steve said  "we can watch a movie I know it's not your turn but I'm sure Natasha wouldn't mind?" Tony said ,
still nothing
this was getting suspicious but Tony wasn't about to say that! he could understand Peters actions, it's not every day you're held hostage! "no I don't mind " Natasha said sympathetically "we can watch that movie you've been ranting on about for weeks war of stars?" Thor added
Peter said nothing
This was when The Avengers eventually started to suspect that something was deeply wrong, everyone knew that it was Star Wars and Peter had never not corrected him yet after all he had done every single time he had brought it up. Tony went to put a hand on Peters shoulder and instead of resting on it (as it should) it went straight through him he avengers jumped back in confusion and just like a TV screen peter went out of focus and vanished just as  Loki had "Loki never ran away it was an allusion, a lie, a trick!" Thor exclaimed
"he's still got Peter!!"
