Chapter 4: Callista's Birthday

Today's the big day for Cali. Let's see what goes down, my little Mystical Creatures.

The video up above is from this really cute movie called Rock Dog and this song just really speaks to me and so I thought  I would share it with you guys. ;)

I wake up and realize that we slept its early in the morning where the sun is just beginning to rise. Evan and Emma are still knocked out and James is beginning to stir due to me waking up.

"I'm sorry James, I didn't mean to wake you up," I whisper apologize to James.

He looks up at me from his position and gives a small groggy smile.

"It's alright. What time is it anyway?"

I reach over to the side table and grab my phone.

"It's only 7:30 am," I report to him.

He yawns and shakes his head in acknowledgment. He lifts himself up and stretches.

"Well since these two look they are going to sleep the day away, I'm going to go take a shower and get ready."

"Okay, you can use my bathroom since all your clothes and things are in there. Let me know when you're done so I can take one as well. Then we can pour water on them to wake them okay. Deal?"

"Hell yeah!" He whispered back.

He walks off to my room to take a shower and get dressed. I begin to fold up the big blanket that we shared as quietly as possible. I lay the blanket back down on the couch and make my way downstairs to see if my mother is awake.

I start heading towards the kitchen to see if my mom was there. Low and behold there she was making breakfast.

"Good Morning Mom. How did you sleep?"

"Oh, Good Morning dear. I slept well. I was coming to check on you guys last night, but you weren't in your room. I found yall in the game room instead. Did you have another Harry Potter marathon last night?"

"You know I love Harry Potter mom. They didn't mind. Evan and Emma were the first to pass out. Plus, James was the one who suggested it." I chuckled.

"Alright well, as long as they didn't mind. I knew Evan and Emma would be the first to fall asleep."

"You and I both. But I got a photo of them in the funniest positions, so I think of it as a win."

My mom laughs and continues to make breakfast. I make a move to help her but shoos me away.

"It's your birthday and I'm not going to make you do any chores or help out around the house. Today is your day. Enjoy it. Happy Birthday, Sweetie." My mom kisses me on the forehead and smiles.

"Thanks, momma. I love you." I give her a bear hug and step away.

"I love you too. Now go get ready and wake up Emma and Evan because I know they are still sleeping."

"Yes, ma'am." I give her a mock salute and walk back upstairs. As I hit the last step James is exiting my room fully dressed in jean shorts and a t-shirt.

I give him a nod of approval and a high five as I make my way into my room to take a shower and change. Once I finished washing my hair and myself, I stepped out and let my hair hand down to air dry. I wrapped the towel around myself and walked back into my room to find James laying on my bed scrawling through his phone.

I walk over to my closet and pull out a pair of black biker shorts and a tank top. I walk back out my closet and over to my dresser and start brushing my hair while it's still a little damp. When I finish brushing through my hair, I throw it up into a messy bun.
