Happy Holidays my little Mystical Creatures. Sorry, I've been gone for so long but college has been kicking my arse. This is a continuation of the previous chapter. It's not a long one but I like the idea of it. :) Enjoy!

*3 hours later*

My eyes slowly begin to peel open. I guess I must have fallen asleep waiting for her to wake up.

I feel her forehead and notice that she has cooled down significantly. I sigh and lean back. I grab her hand and intertwine our fingers together. I massage her knuckles and kiss her palm.

She seems to stir from her slumber when I kiss her palm.

I watch as her mismatched eyes shoot open as she lets out a gasp.

A wave of relief floods through me as I wrap my arms around her and sigh.

"Oh my god, love. I was so fucking sacred I lost you." I breathe in her scent and feel my wolf purr in content.

I squeeze her and pull away to stare at her face. She smiles at me and cups my face. "I made a promise that I wasn't going anywhere, and I plan on keeping that promise."

I smile and give her another big hug and then pull away.

"How long have I been out for?"

"Only a few hours. But them few hours almost killed me; might I add."

She places a kiss on my cheek. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I honestly don't know what happened. One minute I was dancing around in the sky and the next I'm locked in this prison of darkness with which seems like no way out."

I give her a confused look. Dancing in the sky? "Dancing in the sky? Is that how you got up there and how you fell?"

She nods her head. I become even more confused and she notices, so chooses that moment to explain to me what happened.

She seemed really excited and my worries were starting to come back from the conversation I had with my father.

I pull her up off the bed while she's still talking and start leading her outside.

In-between her explanation, she stops for breath because she was talking so fast and I think she has finished. I was wrong. After a few seconds, she starts right back up.

She gets the part of her story where she mentions fire and it stops me in my tracks. Cali runs into the back of me because she wasn't prepared for my sudden halt.

"Hey. This is the clearing where it all happened. You always know how to find my spots," she says.

Well yeah, I was the one who found you here in the first place. I don't say that out loud though. But this is beside the point. I need to know what she did.

I turn around with the most serious look on my face. I can see the fear on her face with how serious I look right now but it has to been done.

"Can you show me exactly what you did?" She nods her head and steps back a little bit.

She begins to hum and closes her eyes. I honestly can't believe what I'm seeing right now. Her hair, her clothes, everything changed within the blink of an eye.

'Our mate is beautiful. Aren't you glad the moon goddess blessed us with Cali? The best mate we could have ever asked for.' I hear Jacob say at the back of my mind.

I can't focus on his words because I'm too busy lost in my memories of the past. The flashbacks seem to be coming back the longer I'm near her. I see Cali wave her hand in front of my face and I seem to come back to my senses.

I didn't mean to do it but when she reached for my hand, I pulled it away. I instantly regretted doing it. I saw her face filled with sadness and hurt.

"You're scared of me, aren't you? Whatever your father told you has made you scared of me."

My heart sunk and Jacob whimpered in my mind.

'NO! Dustin fix this! Our mate might leave us. You can't let the past tear us apart.'

She starts backing away from me and I can see the unshed tears in her eyes. "I'm a monster, aren't I?"

My heart broke. "No! I-" Before I could finish my explanation, she took off away from me.

There's no way in hell I'm losing her over something that happened in the past. I use my enhanced speed and catch her before she gets too far away from me.

"Let go of me!" she yells at me.

"No. I want you to let me explain first. I am not scared of you."

I feel her body go limp and her legs buckle beneath her letting her fall to the ground. I hear her quiet sobs and I whimper in pain.

I fall down with her and pull her into my chest. "Cali, I love you and I would be scared of you. I'm scared for you because I know what your powers could potentially do to you. I can't imagine losing you. You are everything to me."

'You need to tell her about what happened 3 years ago. She will understand Dustin and know why you reacted the way you did. Don't lie to her like this.'

'Everything I said is the truth, but I'm choosing to only let her hear the important parts. When the time is right, I will tell her why I reacted the way I did, just not right now.'

Her crying died down and turned into silent hiccups. I could tell she was listening to me breathe and my heartbeat to calm herself down more.

She pulls away from me and wipes her eyes. I cup her cheeks and smile at her. I wipe the straggling tears away and give her a light peck on her lips.

I pick her up bridal style and start making my way towards the house. She snuggles into my chest and instantly falls asleep.

I stopped and watch her chest slowly fall and rise. Her eyelashes brushed against her cheekbones and the slight freckles on her nose stood out more.

'Stunning, isn't she? That's why we can't let her leave us. She is ours and nobody else can have her.'

I nod my head and start walking again back to the house.

I get back to the house and walk her to our room and lay her down. I kiss her forehead and leave the room.

'Jason, Rick, Zack. I need to speak to ya'll. Meet me in the game room.'

'Yes Alpha,' I hear Jace and Rick reply back.

'Roger that Rusty Dusty.' I roll my eyes at Zack's reply and make my way to the game room.
