Chapter 17: This went better in my head

I'm pretty sure we all know Remember Me from COCO. Such a cute movie. I have a little surprise for you guys next chapter.

Once I don't hear movement on my floor anymore, I slowly open the door and I quietly sneak out of the room and down the stairs. I quietly open the front door and slip my shoes on. I shut the door behind me and make a full sprint for the gate jumping over it. I take off sprinting down the road. I manage to make it to the end of the road when I hear a howl. I whip my head around and see two wolfs charging after me. I gasp and take off at full speed. I'm not reading any of the signs as I go by and I end up make a wrong turn and come to a dead end.

"NO. No no no, this can't be happening, again!" I spin around when the wolfs howl again. I get into a defense position, ready to fight. "If you're going to fight me, make it fair. Shift back." I order. One of the wolfs laughs but the other obliges and shifts back.
"Shift back Tobias. Make this fair for the little lady." I sneer at what he calls me and wait for the other wolf to shift back. He shifts back and stands at almost 7 feet tall. The other guy is as tall as Jason. The one called Tobias was creepy looking while the other guy looked calmer.

"Shall we begin Luna?" I scoff at the calmer one.

"You don't have the privilege of calling me that." I get back into a defensive position and wait for one of them to attack first. Tobias comes at me first and it's one on one for a little while. He manages to strike me in my stomach, and I reel back. I gasp for a second and almost don't dodge his next attack.

The calm guy decides to join in and it's 2 vs 1. I try my hardest to fight them off for as long as I can. When the calm guy takes a swing at my face, I dodge and kick him in his gonads. He goes down with a huff and Tobias charges at me, but I spin the opposite direction and take off back down the road.

I manage to make my way back to the right road but instead of going down the road to my house, I take a left turn and run out to the highway. When I'm sure I'm no longer being followed, I stop and catch my breath. My phone vibrates in my pocket and I pull it out.

I see that I have 10 missed calls and 30 new text messages from Dustin, 20 texts form Jason, 10 messages for Rick, and 1 message from Zack. The one message from Zack catches my attention. I open it and read it.

'Cali, Dustin's pissed. He's shifted and wreaking havoc all over the house. He has ordered most of the warriors out looking for you right now. Wherever you've gone, I hope you have a good explanation for Dustin and the rest of us because he's not the only one pissed.'

My heart sinks at that last sentence as I exit my messages and turn off my phone. After I wander around on the side of the highway for a little while, I make a decision and call Zack. The phone rings once before he picks up.

"Cali! Where the fuck are you?"

"Um, I'm not quite sure. I got chased by some wolfs and I fought them until I got the opportunity to make my escape. But when I made sure they wouldn't have a chance to follow me I booked it towards my house, but I took a left instead of a right so they wouldn't know where I lived and I kept taking turns till I ended up near the highway."

I hear him take a deep breath to try and calm himself down. "Cali, I want you to tell me what you see around you."

I turn all around me until I find an exit sign. "Um, I see an exit sign that says Exit 39 and there's another sign that says Blackwood City 15 miles."

"Okay, Cali, stay there. Don't let your guard down for anything. The warriors are on their way to come to get you. Don't fucking move and I mean it."
