Chapter 22: I'll be back before you know it (Part 1)

Hey, my little Mystical Creatures! Since the coronavirus has shut down everything and all classes are online. This gives me more time to work on my chapters and try and make them the best that they can be for yall. I really do miss writing this book for my own personal reasons. I recently had a death in my family and since whenever I have a life crisis or my depression hits harder than expected, I tend to turn to writing as a coping mechanism. But anyway, back to the book. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter. It literally took me a couple of months to finish it because of writers' block and my dumb self not knowing which direction I want it to take haha. Enjoy!

I bring Cali to my room and lay her down before pulling the covers over her and kissed her forehead.

I start making my way to the game room on the upper floor. I make it to the game room and see they are all standing in front of the door.

Jason and Rick's heads are bowed down while Rick has his normal goofy grin on his face.

I smirk at Rick and head into the room with the guys following behind me.

They all took a seat in front of me, while I stood in front of them.

"What's up bro?" says Zack.

I sigh and shake my head. "I called you guys here to one, apologize to Jason and Rick for how I acted and for what I said earlier. I didn't mean what I said. I'm sorry."

Jason and Rick give me a warm smile. "All is forgiven Alpha. We were out of line and shouldn't have questioned our Luna." Rick says.

I smile and give them a little nod. "Secondly, I have some news to share with you guys about Cali. Jason and Rick already know so Zack you are the only one out of the loop."

"Awe! Come one! Why am I always the last one to be clued in on things? I want details bro!"

I give him an amused look before I chuckle. "I don't think you are going to find this amusing, but then again it's you I'm talking to so I wouldn't put it past you to get excited over this."

He straightens himself up on the couch and pulls his legs up under him.

"I'm ready for storytime!" Zack exclaims grabbing a nearby pillow and hugging it.

Jason and Rick begin snickering and Zack sticks his tongue out at them before redirecting his full attention to me.

I chuckle and begin telling him everything that has happened in the past couple of hours.

Once I have finished telling him everything, he just stares at me. Jason waves his hand in front of his face and he snaps out of it.

"Woah...that was a lot to take in. Is she okay? Does she know what she is?"

I shake my head and sigh. "I'm going to tell her when she wakes up from her nap. Hopefully, I don't scare her..."

"It will be easier to hear because it's coming from you. She can handle it. She's a tough girl." Jason encourages me.

I smile at him. "Thanks, Jase. That means a lot to me."

"Of course. We got your back, Dustin." Rick says giving me a smile and Zack gives me a thumbs up.

"Let's play MW3!" Zack suggests. Jason, Rick and I agree, and I grab the controllers from the charging dock and turn the tv on.

We took turns for a couple of hours before we got bored and switched over to Netflix and started watching movies.

After around the second movie, there was a knock at the door and it slowly creaked open.

I turned my head to see who it was. "My love, you're awake."

She nods her head and walks over to the couch. I pull her onto my lap and hug her from behind.

"Do you feel better my little flower?"

She turned to face me and pointed towards her mouth. I looked at her confused.

"Are you hungry?"

She shakes her head. Alright, now I'm even more confused. She sees the confusion on my face and starts moving her hands as if she's trying to say something.

"I think she's signing something to you..." Jason says.

She nods her head and now I and Jacob are very concerned. "What's wrong my love? Why aren't you speaking to me?"

She signed something to me again and I just shook my head at her showing her I don't understand.

She started making gestures for pen and paper. Rick gets up and grabs a pad and a pen. She starts to write down what she's trying to say, and we wait a few minutes. She holds up the pad and we read what it says.

When I woke up, it felt like there was like sandpaper in my mouth. I went downstairs to get some water and try and soothe the discomfort. Then one of the pack members greeted me and when I went to speak, nothing came out.

How could this have happened? Did I cause this? Everything was fine when I put her to bed. Why can't she talk to me?

I try mindlinking her to see if she can hear me.

'Baby, can you hear me?'

She jumps a little and whips her head towards me. 'Are you talking to me through my mind?'

'Yes, I am. Talk to me love. What happened? Why can't I hear your beautiful voice?'

'I honestly don't know Dustin. I must have cried myself silent for a little while. This has happened to me only twice.'

I growl at this statement and hug her closer to me. 'What do you mean twice? Who do I need to kill for hurting you?'

She giggles. 'They're behind bars Dustin you can't get to him even if you wanted to.'

I can feel Jacob start to get angrier so I end the conversation with a quick we will finish this later.

She nods her head and gets up. I go to reach for her, but she pulls away from me. I let out a small whimper and reach for her again.

She gives me a soft look and grabs my hand before mindlinking me.

'I'm getting a movie to watch with you guys. I'm not leaving you nor am I mad.'

She gives my hand a squeeze and turns to the other guys. She begins to mouth her words to them.

'Movie?'

They all shake their heads and start throwing out suggestions.

"What about a horror movie?" Says Rick.

"Or we could watch a Marvel movie...." Zack says hesitantly.

Jason, Rick and I chuckle while Cali gives Zack a concerned look. He sighs and says, "I'm not a big fan of horror movies...they give me nightmares."

Cali gives him a soft smile and a hug. She grabs her pen and paper and starts to write down what she wants to say.

Would it make you feel better if we made a fort out of pillow and blankets? And then we got a whole bunch of snacks and hung fairy lights from the sheets as well? Then afterward we can have a sleepover in the fort, so no one is left alone. Are you okay with that?

She shows the pad to Zack and his face breaks into the widest smile I have ever seen. He wraps her up in a hug and swings her around. Jacob and I want to growl but we know we shouldn't because she's already ours, so we have no reason to be jealous.

He sets Cali down and kisses her forehead. "That would be awesome Luna! I'm gonna get the snacks from downstairs!"

With that, he takes offdownstairs to get his secret stash of candy and food. Jason, Rick and I laughat him while Cali gives off silent giggles. She makes her way to the movie rackto pick out for us while the rest of us pick out the blankets and start rearrangingthe couches and furniture.
