A Letter of Promise

"You said you'll tell me who the culprit is! What now?!" Iritadong tanong ni Ria kay Fervs ng nasa loob na sila ng kotse nito.

"I will soon." Malumanay na sagot nito ng hindi siya tinitingnan. Dahan-dahang binuhay ni Fervs ang makina ng kaniyang kotse.

"soon... I am tired of hearing that you will tell me something but eventually there's nothing. Alegre, your something is nothing! You just have balls, that is why you are being called as a man but you are not a man, not at all. Man up your words please!" Gigil na sigaw niya at akmang lalabas na siya ng kotse nang pigilan siya nito sa kaniyang kaliwang braso.

"What? Why? Am I right?! Of course I am! I know I am right!" balikwas niya sa lalakeng kaharap na ngayon.

"Your words are going nowhere. This is what I expected. Calm down, I'll drive you home." hindi pa rin siya nito tinitingnan sa mata. Igting ang panga nito at tanging sa baba lamang ito naka tingin.

"Here we go again. My words are going nowhere. I am like this because of your lies! I am sick of assuming that there is really a strong evidence that your investigation is leading to someone." Tinitigan niya ito sa mga mata ngunit umiiwas ito at yumuyuko.

"Look at me! I am really getting angry. Just tell me the truth, either it's positive or not just tell me." Hindi ito kumibo noong una ngunit nagsalita rin ng hindi niya tinigilan ang pagtitig dito.

"Tell me first that you'll be calm and do nothing because I will lead the plan." Sagot nito ng hindi iniiwan ang titig niya.

"I told you to tell me first then I'll decide what to think, react or plan." Sagot ni Ria na hindi na makapagpasensya.

"This is really going nowhere. Can you please listen first? Can we communicate well? Hmm?" malumanay na saad ni Fervs at inabot ang braso niya na iniiwas naman ng dalaga.

"Going nowhere... so where were your words now? May pinatunguhan ba ang 'I have to tell you something mo'? na ilang ulit mo nang ginamit pero kahit kalian wala ka namang sinasabi! You and your lies Alegre!" hindi na napigilan ni Ria ang pagsigaw. Agad namang isinara ni Fervs ang mga bintana at muling pinatay ang makina ng sasakyan.

"Let's not fight please. I am asking you to listen first and trust me. If you can't put your trust on me then how can we solve this problem?" Mariing ipinikit ni Fervs ang kaniyang mga mata. Mahinahon niyang kinumbinsi na huwag na silang mag away.

"ang please don't call me by my surname." Dugtong ni fervs sa naunang sinabi.

"Why? We're not fighting, I am just stating facts here and you're not listening. You are the one who don't listen, you want me to promise not to do anything and stay calm first when I am not sure who the hell is the culprit and why not just tell me who the culprit is? Then we're clear and done. This is my family's problem just to remind you." Malumanay na si Ria, ngunit bakas sa bawat kataga ang kaniyang panggigigil.

"My family being the center of rumors as the main suspect makes it my problem as well Maria. And I don't like you using all your energy just because you want to know something."Fervs look straight on the road but didn't start the engine yet.

"Here we go again to your 'something'. Alam mo, mabuti pa sigurong umuwi nalang tayo, tutal wala ka namang balak na sabihin sa akin 'yang sinasabi mong alam mo." Bababa na sana siya ngunit nilock ni Fervs ang pinto at inilagay ang seatbelt ni Ria na nagpagulat sa dalaga.

"I am going home because this meeting is nothing but a joke." Inis na sabi niya at kinalas ang seatbelt.

Ibinalik ni Fervs ang seatbelt at inilapit lalo ang mukha sa dalaga at bumulong.
