Not at All

My Mom was the one to unfreeze my account.

Daddy's gone since he has business to attend to.

"Where's my wallet?"

Natigilan si Mommy at napakamot sa batok. Naghugas siya ng kamay dahil doon.

"It's still with your Dad. I got lucky to get 3 of your cards discretely."

And by that she meant my BDO credit card, a forever 21 card and a national bookstore card.

"You didn't manage to get my black card back. That's absurd considering it's the most different colored card." Napa-iling ako.

Tumaas ang dalawang kilay niya at umirap. I got the eyes from her.

"I didn't know where you put it!"

"It's not hidden, Mom."

She sighed in defeat.

"Okay! I just think that's too much. You have your BDO card already."

"Yeah... I was messing with you."

I can't fight her fist! So I went to Zahra- their nicest friend.

"Hey."

Tumingin siya sa akin at ngumiti, acknowledging my presence and ignoring her text books.

"Where is Keziah?"

She said.

Tumango nalang ako at umalis.

I'm not that much of a bookworm but when I'm bored, I prefer to read novels than to express my plasticity to plastic friends.

I let my hand touch the spines of the books while searching for an interesting title. I prefer classic books but when I didn't find one, I contented myself with Sophie Selestina Cuevas' book entitled 'A Villain's Happy Ending'.

I really love reading fairy tales even when I was young. Although I'm not a believer of how true love's kiss can mend a broken heart as much as how they believe, I believe true love is true. And he's out there somewhere. Probably with the villain of our story or drinking his usual alcohol beverage. Kaya hindi rin ako nagmamadali. If it's true, it will come. Kapag kami, kami talaga. The universe will be the one to push us together. Even destiny is pulling us apart.

I was reading the summary on the back of the book when I was shocked to feel cold liquid running through my shirt. My eyes searched for my shirt and saw how it hugged my body.

"Oh. My. God." Dahan-dahan kong sinabi.
