21 A Rare Smile

"Yeah, I know I know. By the way why did you choose Amsterdam in first place?" She asked.

"I don't know exact reason. But I fell in love with this place after seeing first photo on internet and people i know In India advised me to choose UK or Australia for carrier but I didn't want to choose those countries and here I am and I think I will never regret this decision."

"I'll make sure of that." As if she is concluding to herself.

"Can I ask about your family?" I asked cautiously. She looked at me contemplating whether to tell me or not and I immediately regret it asking.

"It's okay if you are not comfortable Charlotte." I said her.

"No it's okay. It's just that I didn't have any girl companion to share the things. I told you being with only two boys sucks. We were a happy family until my mum decided to take a leave from this world. After mum's death dad make himself busy with business trips. We got time only on Saturday and it was day of every week I see my father. Last year he told me that he married one of his business acquaintances Lily. I was happy for him and very excited to welcome her. We lived together until I realize she has problems with me living with them and taking the clue I finally decided to live on my own. I don't have any contacts with them anymore. Yes once in several months he just call me to make sure I am still alive. He changed Jiyana, he changed so much."

"So in nutshell I consider Ethan's parents as my parents and Jack's Grandparents as mine. And those two idiots are my family and I actually love one of them you know." She said smiling.

"You don't feel uncomfortable telling me your story? We are friends for what, just two days?" I placed my doubts to her.

"I think you don't get it. This-" She motioned between us.

"-friendship is going to last for long-long period than you think. And for the first time I feel good to let this out to an actual girl and not Ethan in girly dress and high pitch girly voice. Every time I made any friend in girl their all attention would be on Zacky or Ethan. I always feel like link connecting these whore of girls to their prey. So I leave it there having two idiots of my friends."

"It means a lot to me that I make you feel good. And I got a new best friend just on a second day being in this big city!" I squeeze her hand in anticipation.

We talked about her recently opened business and her unique encounters with ladies and their abnormal demands for the clothes. We were laughing very hard on one incident she had with an old lady. That she was about to hit Charlotte for her blunt speech. I was holding one of the branches of tree; my stomach was hurting by laughing very hard.

I realize that Charlotte has stopped laughing and only then I got time to see Charlotte is staring at something or someone again. I looked in direction she is staring and I saw Mr. Jack (because he is not looking furious this time) staring at me and as always blank expressions. I saw Ethan is standing beside him and he is staring at Mr. Jack.

Why both of them are staring at him and WHY is he staring at me?

"What happened?" I asked in high voice considering distance between us.

Mr. Jack seems to compose himself first. He straightened himself, turned and left to his room I think.

I am feeling that these three have some Staring competition from the first day I met them.

"What was that?" Ethan asked Charlotte.

"Yeah. Exactly what was that?" Charlotte counter questioned him but same question?

"Am I the only one who doesn't know about this 'What was that' topic?" I asked them gaining their attention.

"I need to freshen up. I'll meet you soon." Ethan left with that still confused.

"What were we doing when they came in here?" Charlotte asked me meeting my eyes.

"Umm... we were laughing on that incident you told me about that old lady? What more?" I asked her.

"No I mean what you did to make him starring at you with a rare smile which lasted for mere seconds we ever get to see?" she exclaimed holding me from both side.

I did something? Last time I checked that I was forming plan to put some prank on him not that I put my plan in action though.

I looked up at her. Yes she is taller than me so I looked up at her only to find smirking at me.

Oh no!! Her smirking has no good meaning.

"What is it in your mind Charlotte?" I don't feel uncomfortable with her anymore.

"Ohh. It's nothing. Forget about it. Let's just get in." with that she went inside leaving me there at garden.

Thank you for your votes and valuable feedback. It made my day, even though I was hell busy in my Internship finalising an Audit Report, I got a sneak peak into the vote I received on my book. I was so ecstatic.

Now back to the book. Jiyana knows something was up but she always believes in brush off any unusual events and every other events and interactions are new for her being in Amsterdam for few days.
