43 – Cute?
"No thank you?"
"No thanks to you!"
Guess what! We said at the same time but with different expressions!
Jack just started car and put his attention to the road ahead. After few minutes of right and left, he asked out of blue "Making some chick clinging to me was best scene to you, wasn't it?"
"Ohh, believe me it was the best scene since I came to Amsterdam. In India we rarely get to enjoy such scene in public and in my case, I have never seen it personally except movie scenes." I couldn't hold myself back to deliver that information before I could understand that his inquiry was out of sarcasm!
I could have hit my head again if it weren't for the seat-belt this time. And looking up I saw we reached to Jack's home.
On my way inside the house, I tried to call Ethan or Charlotte but none of them picked up the phone. I sat on couch in living room while Jerk disappeared probably to his room.
After few minutes while my never ending browsing for movies on Jerk's Netflix I smelled something delicious. My legs led me to kitchen where very hot with rolled up sleeves, pan in one hand and cooking spoon in other was standing none other than Jack.
Sometimes he deserves title of normal good human being apart from his aggressive arrogant personality. Before he saw me drooling over him I averted my attention to the food in pan.
He prepared pasta, fortunately for me also. As soon as he served the pasta in plate, I took it and went to the living room saying my 'Hearty thanks' to him.
Shortly after Jack came in Living room taking seat next to me and suddenly I felt self-conscious about my appearance but I soon ignored it. I have started the 'Transformers' movie knowing perfectly that Jack would hate it.
I was half way finishing my pasta when someone started ringing the bell frantically. I placed he plate on table and went to open the door, only to welcome poor Ethan dragging the AGAIN drunk Charlotte. I step to side and let them in.
'Why is she drunk now?'
Ethan stopped in living room only to nod in Jack's direction. I followed Ethan to the room he had taken Charlotte. Ethan placed Charlotte on bad and I removed her high heels while he tucked her under blanket.
He then left the room and I followed the suit.
As I returned to living room, I heard Ethan saying to Jack,
"I just don't know when she followed me to the club. I just met the girl and thought to have some talks you know. I invited her to have a drink. Just after finishing my first drink, I saw Charlotte having shots after shots shooting daggers in my direction. That girl just doesn't know where, when and how much to drink. Not to mention those bastards who were patiently waiting for her to get drunk."
I just couldn't hold myself back – "If you care so much about her, then why do you go after every other girl but her? Why do you always leave her alone?"
"I didn't know she was following me. I saw her running away with you and Jack soon followed you guys and I thought you guys might have left for home."
My gaze averted to floor. It was my fault after all. My uncomfortable position didn't go unnoticed by one person only.
Jack ordered Ethan to eat pasta before he go to sleep. And turned to me as soon as Ethan was out of earshot.
"Care to explain?" He folded his hand and waited for my explanation as all time. I always feel like a child being scolded by his parents when he fold his hand and stands like father seeking answers from his child.
"You know I so want to hit you on head again and again and again until it stops working extra ordinarily." His stance never changed and I nevertheless gave explanation – "I may or may not said her that I saw Ethan with a girl and and before you go all hulk on me, let me remind you that my intention were pure. I didn't know Charlotte will play all James Bond with Ethan."
"Why do you have to relate every situation and expression with movie scenes or character?" Jack exasperatedly asked unfolding his hand.
"Why should I not? It's better than using those dramatically hard grammatical words and its okay as long as the person understands what I meant to say!"
"Whatever!" Jack returned back to the couch.
"Whatever!" I mimicked his word and resumed eating my pasta and watching movie.
Ethan was long retired for the night. Jack soon went to his room. And me being so engrossed with movie, didn't know when I fell asleep!
I was jerked awake feeling some soft fabric being pulled over my body. I suddenly straighten myself resulting to hit my head with Jack's nose in full force.
I know it was Jack hearing whole dictionary of cursing. I rubbed my head and felt Jack hissing in pain. That might have hurt like hell!
Receiving hit on nose, it became red and his eyes were already glistening due to pain. I would have hard laugh looking at clown in front of me if it didn't happen because of me.
But I couldn't hide the hint of laughter and that of course didn't go unnoticed by him. So, I told him
"Your nose. It is totally red like clown! You look cute!"
"Cute?" Jack asked still processing.
"Cute?" I said to confirm my stupidity.
Did I just called him cute?
