Edd's sketch book was filled with drawings of his friends. Even the girls had their faces in it. Edd loved to draw. He even had his friends pose for him. However, his favorite person to draw was Matilda.
She would stay still for hours, just for him to draw. She was always excited for it. Matilda had taken up buying outfits just for the occasion.
Edd would always have the best time drawing her. He knew she only did it for attention, but he didn't mind the practice. They both benefited.
They often times found themselves growing closer as the process went on. Small talk grew into bonding. Edd began to grow more than platonic feelings for the red-haired girl.
Matilda has gone shopping that morning. When she returned, he could see excitement in her face. "Edd! Get your sketch book!"
Edd chuckled. "Got a new outfit you wanna try?"
Matilda smiled. "Well, I want to try something a little bit out of my comfort zone." She pulled out a dress.
"It's cute, but you wear dressed all the time." Edd said confused.
"I usually wear longer dresses." She corrected him. "This one is short. I haven't wore a short dress sign I was a teenager. I always thought that it was unflattering."
Edd couldn't imagine a dress being unflattering on her. Then again, Edd couldn't imagine anything being unflattering on her.
"Why do you think it's unflattering?"
"Well, for one, it makes me look taller and I always felt as though my legs were too skinny." She explained.
Edd chuckled. The girl did have skinny legs, but it was her build. Edd obviously knew everyone in the house had different builds. Even the boy's had different bodies than their girl counterparts. Matilda was a tall girl with very thin features.
It wasn't bad though, Edd found it was the hardest shape for him to draw. He could draw other body shapes, but it baffled him to make it all correct.
"Just try the dress on. I'll go get my sketchbook." Edd said. Matilda nodded excitedly and went to the bathroom.
Once Edd had everything set up, Matilda shyly walked into the room. "I'm not sure about this." She told him softly.
Edd glanced over and had to do a double take. She was gorgeous. She wore a pale green sweater-dress with a brown leather belt. The dress color made her hair pop. The belt made her breast look bigger. The tight fit made her hips stand out more. The turtle neck made her shoulders look more relaxed.
"Maybe I should change." Matilda said.
"No!" Edd blurred out. He blushed a little. "I mean if you think it's too short try tights under it. It may help you feel more comfortable."
Matilda looked down. "Hmmm, I think you're right." She quickly put a pair of tights underneath. "Ready!" she called. She walked over to the chair Edd had place near an empty wall of the living room.
"Okay, try sitting facing me." She followed instruction. "Now cross your right leg over your left. Place your hands in your lap folded. Turn your head to the side as of waiting for something." Matilda did every instruction.
"Perfect." Edd said quietly as he began sketching. Matilda did her best to stay still. Edd could tell something was wrong. He could see it in her face. He sighed.
"What's wrong?" Edd asked.
"I-I don't know. I just don't feel right." Matilda said. "I think it's the dress. I just feel hideous in it."
"I wish you could see how gorgeous you really are." Edd thought. But he also heard himself say it. Which was weird cause he didn't mean to say it. He couldn't have. Edd's not dumb enough to blurt something like that out.
He look at Matilda. Her face flushed over and he knew he had said it out loud. Matilda looked down at her outfit.
"You think I'm gorgeous?" She asked in a soft shock.
Edd cleat his throat. "Yes. I do. I think you being insecure about wearing something short is silly. I think it's silly because no matter what you wear, you're beautiful."
Matilda stood up and walked over to Edd. He could feel the burning tingle of blush on his cheeks. She placed a peck on his cheek.
"I think your handsome." She said. "I think your funny and charming and charismatic. I think you'd make some girl very happy. I think I'd like to be that girl."
Edd stood up. (He was only slightly taller). He pulled her into a tight hug. "I'd like you to be that girl took." He whispered.
Matilda hugged him back and put her head on his shoulder.
"Aaaawwww." Tamara said drunkly. Ell pushed her past them.
"Don't ruin their moment you drunk idiot." Ell said with a frustrated tone. Matilda and Edd couldn't help but giggle at that.
