Matt and Tom had an interesting relationship. The two barely talked. They would hardly ever say a word. In reality, they would talk all the time.
Snapchat, texts, any app they could chat on. Matt would ask for advice. Advice for things he was too embarrassed to say out loud. Matt was always thankful for the sound advice he'd get.
Edd might've been Matt's best friend, but Tom was his best secret keeper. So when Edd said he wanted to go out alone, they don't really mind.
Tom and Matt had sat in the living room playing on their phones when Matt received a message. It was from none other than Tom. The message read, "Wanna watch a movie?"
Matt looked up at Tom to find the man looking at him. Tom had a small smile on his face. Matt texted the man back. "Sure. You can speak to me."
Tom read the message then sighed. "What do you want to watch?" He asked Matt our loud.
Matt enjoyed Tom's voice. He didn't speak often, when he did, it made Matt weak in the knees. His voice was enough to melt Matt. If it's get him to talk, Matt would annoy the shit out of him.
"I don't know, what do we have?" Matt asked. Tom got out his spot and went to the dvd rack. Tom began reading off titles. They decided upon some shitty Dracula rip off.
Matt knew he didn't do go with horror movies, but wanted to push through it for Tom. Matt held a pillow tightly after the first jump scare. Tom chuckled at him.
"Come here you big baby." Tom told him. Tom wrapped his arm around Matt and pulled him closer. Matt could feel red hot blush spread across his cheeks.
Every scare Matt would jump and hide in Tom's chest. Tom rubbed small circles in Matt's back to help him calm down. "We can turn it off." Tom told him.
"No. I wanna see how it ends." Matt told him. He looked up at Tom. Tom had flush on his cheeks. He wondered if it were from them cuddling. Matt pulled away and unlocked his phone.
He texted Tom. This happened when he was simply too shy to say something out loud. Tom's face grew redder as he read Matt's message.
'How do you know if someone likes you and vise-versa?'
Tom texted back. 'Depends on what kind of like.'
'Like like.' Matt texted back immediately. Matt had always longed to be closer to Tom. He wanted Tom to be his boyfriend.
'Well, they may invite you to do things with them. They may want you close to them. If you like them you might do the same. I know that I feel butterflies in my stomach when I'm near someone I like-like.'
Matt drank the text message in. He though about Tom asking him to watch the movie, then pulling him closer when the scares began. Did Tom like him back? Or was he just looking to into it?
'Do you like-like someone?' Matt sent. He prayed he wouldn't get hurt. Tom could honestly crush his heart at this moment.
'Yes. They never stop amazing me. Their confidence, innocence, and energy.'
Matt's could hear in heart beat. 'What if I like-like someone? What if they reject me?'
'Then, it wasn't meant to be. I doubt they'll reject you. They'd be lucky to have you'
Matt took a deep breath and turned to Tom. He took Tom's face in his hands. "I like-like you!" Matt admitted.
Tom's whole face grew red. He was silent. Matt felt his heart drop. His stomach turned. He had obviously fucked up. "I'm sorry. Let's pretend it didn't say that."
Tom grabbed Matt's hand before he could pull both of them away. "I like-like you too." Tom said back. Matt felt instantly lighter. "Now come on, let's see how this ends."
Matt nodded and cuddled back up to Tom. This time, he didn't have to hide enjoying it.
