Ava's POV

I woke up to loud meowing as usual but this time it was joined with hot, stinky breath being beat onto my face repeatedly. Trying to avoid the pain of waking up I roll onto my side but I am met with the morning sun shining through my curtains directly onto my eyes.

"Okay, so I guess we're getting up." I say half asleep with my eyes squeezed shut.

I pull my large white comforter off of me and swing my feet onto to floor and a shock instantly shoots through my body from the coldness. Luckily my slides are near by so I put those on. I lazily walk into my bathroom, cat and dog in tow. Sunshine jumps onto to counter and Rascal stands in the doorway sure to only come in half way, staring at me.

He's very intelligent and actually knows what a bathroom is so he doesn't ever come in on his own in fear I'm going to give him a bath.

I grab my toothbrush and start brushing, then I floss and use some mouthwash. As I'm brushing through my bed head I hear my phone ding and walk back to my nightstand to get it. It's a text from my mom, a selfie of her and my dad at an airport, then she sends a text.

Mom💜: We just landed, miss you already. Love you sweetheart❤️

I text back a simply.

Me: Miss and love you guys too

I put my phone in my pocket and grabbed a hair tie and put my hair into a loose bun. I call for Sunshine and Rascal and we leave my room and go into the kitchen for some breakfast. I grab a bagel and put it in the toaster then I go under the sink to get cat and dog food. Sunshine meows incredibly loud knowing it's time for food and Rascal wags his nonexistent tail aggressively. I feed Rascal first and the Sunshine and when I'm done my bagel pops out. I spread cream cheese on both halves and sit at the table scrolling through Instagram while I eat.

When we're all done eating I lay and the couch to watch Rick and Morty. Rascal gets on my legs and Sunshine on my chest. I know I won't be moving until they do.

Sara's POV

Laurel walks into my room and pushes me to wake up.

"Dad said to get up for breakfast." She says in her singsong voice.

"I'm not hungry." I mumble out and roll away from my window so I can get more sleep.

Just as I'm drifting off I am disturbed again.

"You are so difficult." Laurel says and I assume she's gonna leave me alone.

Just then my blanket it ripped off of my and my curtains are opened completely letting in way too much sun.

"It's too early for you to be playing games Laurel." I groan out.

"It's actually," She checks her phone, "12:08 so put on a shirt and come downstairs too eat." She walks out and leaves my door open knowing it'd bother me enough to get up.

I do and I go to my closet and grab a tank top. I don't see why I have to wear a shirt in my own house, my sports bra would've been just fine.

"Morning Sara." My mom chirps out even though it's afternoon.

I know it's a weird time to have breakfast at but it's the time I wake up, and my dad is huge on family meals. He thinks it'll make us closer even though we barely talk at any meal and breakfast is the meal with the least amount of conversation. We're all basically running on adrenaline.

"How'd you sleep?" My dad asks is his raspy voice.

"Terribly." I answer as I fall into my normal seat to eat.
