Ava's POV

"Wow" is all I could respond.

I don't even know what I'd say in this situation. If she had called or texted me she liked me I would've known exactly what to say and how to deal with the situation. But she told me in person, actually, she didn't even tell me. She just kissed me. Not that I didn't enjoy it because I've known Sara is a good kisser, but I don't think I enjoyed it in the way she did. But I don't wanna tell her that because I don't wanna hurt her feelings. I wish they taught this type of stuff in school, or there was some book to read on what to do when your bestfriend tells you they like you by kissing you and you don't know what to tell them because you don't even know how you feel.

"Yeah. Like I said I don't expect an answer and I don't really wanna things to be awkward or weird between us. I guess I should've thought about that before I kissed you knowing we have to sleep in the same bed tonight but I've never been one to plan ahead."

I was at a loss of words. Sara was being all nonchalant about this and I'm freaking out. The roles should be reversed considering she just exposed her feelings for me. I should be the calm one. But I'm so flustered I can't even think of a response.

"Are you ok Aves?" She asks when she notices me not talking at all.

"Um yeah I'm okay. I just don't know my line here."

She laughed then and rolled onto her back and scooted away from me. I also rolled onto my back even though I'm now positive I won't be going to sleep anytime soon.

"Goodnight Sara."

"Goodnight Aves."

I wake up to the sound of chatter and laughter in the next room. I had been fighting to stay asleep all morning because I went to sleep pretty late last night but the sun didn't care and did not refrain from shining into my eyes. I had the blanket ever my head to block the sun but I felt like I was being baked alive so I decided to get up.

I pull the blanket off of me and look beside be and see an empty bed. I assume Sara is in the dining room with the others. I grab my phone and walk to the bathroom to make sure I'm presentable. I run my fingers through my hair and put it into a ponytail.

When I open the door I see Amaya walking past in the hallway. She turns to me.

"You've never slept in this late at my house. Did you and Sara wear each other out last night?" She sent an exaggerated wink my way.

I roll my eyes while shaking my head lightly and follow her to the others.

"No but really why did you sleep so long." Amaya asks me when we were about to sit at the table.

Amaya's mom must've gotten here early and made all of this food because I know for damn sure none of us can cook. That was Jax's thing.

"Ummm," I look at Sara and play it off like I was looking at the bacon then grab a piece. "I just couldn't sleep. That bed is not very comfortable."

"Well I'm not sure what you expected. The bed came out of a couch." Zari said.

I finally notice the lack of teenagers in the room.

"Where is everyone?" I ask the entire group but lock eyes with Sara.

"Well the boys are at practice and Nora and her dorm mate wanted to get to know each other before they have to live together for 9 months and coincidentally they both live here so she's getting ready." Amaya answers.
