Sara's POV
I woke up with with more room than I went to sleep with. I open my eyes and rather than be met with a radiant sleeping beauty I see a bland, grey couch.
I sit up and let my eyes adjust to all the light coming in through the windows in my living room. I run my fingers through my hair a couple of times to make sure my bed head isn't terrifying.
I walk into the kitchen hoping to find Ava but no one's in there. I walk back out of the kitchen and grab my phone before going upstairs into my room. I open the door slowly and peak on my bed and she isn't there either.
The bathroom door is open so she's not in there.
I go into Stephanie's room and there she is cuddled with the 5 year old. It's pretty dark in there because the curtains are closed but the light from the hallway helps me make out the way they're laying.
Ava is on her back with her hair sprawled out everywhere. Steph has her head on Ava's shoulder wrapped in her long arms.
The sight made my heart jump and do flips with happiness. It was like watching a video of a dog being reunited with its owner after a long time. I pull my phone out and take a picture but as soon as I hit the button I realized my mistake. The flash was on. Ava moves one of her hands to cover her eyes even though they're still closed. Her movements woke up Steph and she whined.
"When people say take a picture it'll last longer I don't think they actually want their picture taken." Ava says not opening her eyes and staying where she was laid.
"But you just looked so cute Aves." I tell her walking over and kissing her temple. I wish she knew I was serious and not just saying that as a friend. "And so did you princess." I tell Steph and kissing her head.
She giggles and I can tell she's still tired but it's almost 10 and I don't want to be the reason bum is raised.
I walk around the bed to where there is space and jump on it so Stephanie and Ava bounce up an inch or two. Pushing sleep aside the both laugh heartily.
I propped myself up on my elbow and Ava lays back down comfortably but this time she's fully awake. I look into her eyes and they're so captivating, looking at them makes me feel like I'm floating and the only thing around me is her.
Stephanie jumps off the bed and pulls the curtains wide open.
"Wet's go to the pawk alweady!" She screams as if we're across the house and not in the same room. I've always liked how kids can go from exhausted to hyper in seconds.
"Give me a minute I just woke up." Ava says moving her gaze from my eyes to the other little blonde in the room.
Stephanie walked around the bed to where she was right next to Ava and put her hands on her shoulders.
"We gotta go now!" She shook, well attempted to shake, Ava by her shoulders while she spoke.
Ava laughed at her attempt to move her. Her laugh makes me so happy, especially when it's her real laugh. Mainly because she so rarely does it, when I do hear it warms my heart. As much as I like everything about Ava I can't wait for this little crush to be over, it's really making it hard to just be around her because all I ever want to do is stare at her.
"Well how about we eat, get ready, and then go to the park huh?" Stephanie gave me the biggest smile when I said that. She turned around and bolted out of the room.
"Eggo waffles!" She yelled and I heard her feet slap the stairs as she ran down.
Ava turned her head back to me and smiled. She jumped up from the bed and ran out of the room.
