Ava's POV
I wake up in Sara's arms but it's not morning yet. Well I mean obviously it's morning but it has to be around 4 a.m. because it's still dark out.
I move her arm from off of me and move my legs from hers and get off the couch.
Normally I wouldn't mind cuddling with Sara or anyone else but the couch wasn't meant for more than one person to sleep on. I find my phone on the coffee table to check for notifications and I have a text from Jade from three hours ago.
Jade🕷: Sorry we couldn't talk much today because of my orientation I was thinking about you the entire time. I can't wait to talk to you tomorrow, I hope your day was good I want to hear all about it. Sleep well angel.
I met Jade after I went to the mall a couple weeks ago. Amaya and I were there, planning to meet up with Sara, Charlie, Zari and Nora as a girls' day but since it was pretty last minute on a Saturday everyone already had plans.
Flashback
Amaya dragged me into yet another dress store looking for just a plain white dress. It didn't think dress shopping would be this hard, especially because she knew exactly what she was looking for when we got to the mall. I'm glad I rarely wear dresses because finding a perfect one seems nearly impossible.
She grabbed every white dress that even remotely met her criteria: above the knee but not in a slutty way, anywhere between a spaghetti strap and a three finger strap, tight fitting but not suffocating, if not fitting it has to be more like a sundress; v-neck but not a plunge, and if it wasn't a v-neck it couldn't make her look like a child. The most important thing is that it had to be white, pure white. Not cream, not ivory, not even off white because Nate got her a pair of shoes and they are pure white and, in her words, "I don't want to make him think I hate them because I don't wear them because I have nothing to wear them with!" I find that hard to believe because Amaya has a very large selection of clothes. I mean a lot. She can go probably three or four months without wearing the same thing twice. Charlie does too but all her clothes are more or less the same so you can't really tell.
Amaya comes out of the dressing room for the 5th time.
"Okay I really like this one." She says spinning around to show it off to me.
I stay seated in the chair and give her a little nod.
"It looks good." She groans at me.
"You said that about all the ones you've seen me in today."
"Well they've all looked good." She makes a motion with their hands strangling me and goes back into the dressing room.
"I know I said I liked the last one, but this one I love." She pulled the curtain back and revealing herself in a white wrap dress.
It met all her standards: mid-thigh, pure white, v-neck but no slutty. It wasn't a body-con dress so it's perfectly meet parents in.
"It looks great." I say.
Amaya smiles very big. "Great as in better than good?" She asks still smiling.
"By definition yes."
"Finally!" She sighs with relief and I could visibly see a weight lift off her shoulders.
"Ok let's get some food and then go back to mine." She closes the curtain to the dressing room and changes.
We didn't end up leaving the mall until around 9 because Amaya wanted to look in some jewelry stores. I made Amaya drive to Jack in the Box which was about 10 minutes away.
