"I'm here for you, you know. I'm not going to leave you for some random guy on our night out."

Gwen rolled her eyes and pulled out her phone. "Shush, come on. We can do it together," she said as he pulled up and app. "You see, I'm checking out some guys too. We can play wingman for each other."

Maxie smirked and brought his drink to his lips. He hadn't been in a proper social drinking setting with Gwen before and this was turning out to be interesting. When she had a few drinks in her she became more lively than he would have expected. She was still cute and wouldn't have been able to keep up with Daisy, Chloe and the rest but it was fun.

"You're on tinder?"

Gwen did her cute little snort of a laugh and nodded her head, a blush on her skins and a bright grin on her lips. "Okay, can I tell you something?"

"You're on a roll already. Why not?"

"Okay, and don't judge!"

Maxie put his hands up. "I promise I'm in no place to judge."

Gwen let out a breath and said, "I'm a virgin. Like... I've never done anything. And its not because I don't want to. I really, really want to. Its just that no ones ever really tried anything with me."

"Okay," he replied, with a little shrug. "I mean, lots of people in University are virgins. Even after that. People act like its a big deal but its not. You can't just will something to happen, even if you want something." He hoped what he was saying wasn't patronizing. He just wanted to make her feel as comfortable as possible. No doubt she'd heard all the stigma if she felt embarrassed about that fact.

"I haven't even properly kissed someone- or made out, anyway. I had a couple awkward... I don't even know what to call them."

"Its fine, I know exactly what you mean. They don't count."

"So yeah..." Gwen finished the rest of her drink.

"So you want me to help you find someone?"

"We can help each other find someone. I mean, you're ready to move on now, right?"

It seemed that he was. Deep down he felt ready to get physical. Maybe not to invest feelings in but he craved touching and affection and the warmth of someone's body. It didn't matter whose it was.

"Okay, yeah. I am."

Plus he needed to get some soon because spending nights on his own was starting to drive him insane, especially since he couldn't stop thinking about it.

Maybe if he got this out of his system he'd stop thinking about Oscar.

"Okay, well tonight we're both finding someone- we don't have to go home with them just... maybe I can start with making out with a random guy and working my way up."

"Trust me, on student nights, you won't find that hard at all."

An uncomfortable look crossed Gwen's face. "That doesn't make me really feel better that a guy has to be drunk to want me. I want a guy to look at me and be like out of everyone that's available, I only want her."

"Have you seen yourself?" Maxie exclaimed, almost jumping out of his bar stool. "Gwen you're gorgeous."

"But I'm not like... typically gorgeous. Like I don't look like the type that guys usually go for. Which is fine, by the way. I mean, I love myself and all that and I'm all about empowerment its just- the truth still is that no one really launches themselves at me like they do with my friends, you know?"

This saddened him, hearing Gwen talk like that.

"Maybe its not necessarily how you look. I mean, you're gorgeous. That's definitely not the problem here. And I'm not saying that because I'm your friend, I think your beautiful."
