The whole apartment smelt like beef stew and dumplings. It'd been so long since he came home to this warm feeling. Not after his mother. He still remembered, her taste. Her beef stew was his favorite. To that thought his eyes flung open when he saw the delicious looking dumplings and beef stew on the table. How could she possibly know that? A thought lingered in his mind.

The table was already set. Forks, plates, glass, stew spoons even napkins.

"impressive." he raised his eyebrow wondering where she had learnt this all from. He believed comfort station wasn't the place.

Eagrly he looked around for her. For the first time in so long his boots against the wooden floor wasn't the only sound in this lonely apartment.

He could hear the opening and closing of the cabinets. Stuttering of dishes and water running. He slowly walked towards the kitchen.

His eyes widened almost stunned momentarily. A tiny figure, standing with her back facing him. He noticed the shape of her legs and the curve of her back. The way that little piece of fabric clung onto her body. Everything about her looked weirdly appealing. He had seen that before ofcourse because she had always been dressed in a white  shirt but right now at that moment he swore he had never seen something so appealing before.

He wanted to reach for her.. He wanted to touch her. But what was stopping him to do that?

"major? " a soft voice took him out of his little trance.

Taehyung flinched. "I d-didn't realize when you came. Do you need anything else? "she asked, wiping her wet hands with a kitchen towel.

"no." he replied short. Jisoo nodded. He looked at her for a moment. "have you eaten? " he asked. Her eyes immediately shifted from the ground on him.

"i-i guess I wasn't allowed to until you're done. " she spoke.

"hmm" he nodded again and walked out of the kitchen. Jisoo followed. Just like the day she volunteered to serve as a waitress in the station. She stood carefully beside him while he ate. She wasn't allowed to move until he was done.

"where did you learn to cook? "he asked while taking a bite of his steamy dumpling.

" I used to cook with my mother. When I was back home. " she spoke like a whisper. Back home before she was dragged into this hell by his forces. She swallowed a lump that appeared in her throat.

How did she know dumpling and beef stew was his favorite?

"why did you cook this today? "he asked instead.

"did you not like it? "she asked. Concerned. Afraid of what consequences she might have to face.

"it's not that -" he spoke. "just wanted to know why? " he asked taking a look at her.

"it's one of my favorite dishes. I didn't k-know what you'd like so I made this." her heart was beating fast inside her chest.

His too.

"very well." he replied as he wiped his hands with a napkin. "You should eat now. " he spoke and left without saying another word or taking another glance at her.
