The sun, outside shone like a glowy ball of gold, in an ocean blue sky. But inside.. Inside it was as dark as it could get.

Struggling to get up, jisoo squealed in pain. A piece of glass had perieced through her soft skin. She couldn't keep her foot straight and yelped when the door opened. She almost froze at her spot, almost lifeless.

Taehyung looked down at her dull face and a feeling of guilt overpowered him. He didn't mean to do it. He didn't mean to do any of this to her but he was a major and he had a reputation to uphold.

"leave it. " he commanded.

Commands! She hated commands!

Suddenly his eyes moved down at her bleeding wound and his jaw clenched immediately from the anger he felt for himself. He almost wanted to hit himself for causing her this pain, but little did he know this pain was nothing compared to the one she felt inside.

Jisoo ignored him intently and kept doing what she was brought here to do. To Serve.

Whether it was their physical service or sexual. To serve, had been the fate of all the comfort women.

"I said leave it! " he muttered, louder this time. Usually she would jump at his tone like she did everytime he'd speak like that but .. This time she felt too numb to feel anything. She didn't say a word.

Instead, she looked at him with questioning eyes. From the outside she looked mad, fierce and angry but from the inside she was in her most vulnerable state. She didn't cry or stutter instead she stared at taehyung. Her eyes never leaving his sight.

Taehyung didn't say a word either. He didn't know what to say in such circumstances. If it was anyone else, any other soilder instead of him. They both knew, jisoo wouldn't be standing here in front of him with questioning eyes.

"leave.." he ordered her. But his voice wasn't louder than a weak whisper, this time.

A lump formed in jisoo's throat as she looked away from him and struggled to walk out of his room with something more than a wounded foot...

He didn't look back at her then but instead lit a cigarette and settled on his bed. His eyes stared at the ceiling, motionless.

What was the matter? What was going on in his head? He shut his eyes and tried to relax his muscles.

He couldn't even read his own feelings anymore and it had started to frustrate him more than he had thought.
But despite all the confusion, there was something he knew he was sure of. There was something, he always felt for her from the very day, he first saw her laying in that camp, to that dinner at the hall where she served him. And from that day he had unintentionally started to look out for her even though it shouldn't concern him.

He sighed as he thought of the day she was brought to his office for knocking out a soilder.. And the day he brought her to his house.. till now.. He had always felt something towards her. There was something about her that he couldn't pin point exactly but he knew there's something. An urge to protect her?

Tossing in his bed, agitated Taehyung looked at the time. It was 2 in the morning and he couldn't sleep. He stepped out of his room and headed straight to the kitchen. He grabbed a cold bottle of beer then took it to the living room where he leaned back in his sofa and propped his feet on the wood surface. He needed it.

Impatiently jisoo got up trying to find a way she could end her life. She couldn't sleep, the thoughts wouldn't let her. After thinking a lot about it she finally mustered up the strength and dragged her tired body out of the bed. The struggles against the oppression in her life had made her tired. She felt drained. At that time all she could feel was pain. Life didn't seem important to her.
