"She had a seizures a few nights ago while I was in class," Namjoon explained. "After hearing that, I couldn't bring myself to not be around her. I told my professors I would take a few days off and I told your mom too. I'm sorry, I should have called you."

"Don't be sorry." you told him. "This is something you need to do."

"The doctor said she'll be fine with more treatments. She might need to get surgery done. I'm worried she's too weak to handle that." Instinctively, you grabbed his hand.

"She's a lot stronger than you give her credit for. And she has all the reasons in the world to live, she has you." He beamed at your comment and looked at his mother.

"You're right. She is strong. And so are you, Y/N." The sun was at its highest and brightest in the rotation. The light in the room was off but it was completely illuminated by lines of lights that forced itself through the window blinds. He scooted his chair closer to you until your shoulders touched. A spark flown down your spine. It made you aware of how small this room was in comparison to your hospital room.

"Y/N?" asked a whisper. You both turned your head to see his mother slowly waking up. Namjoon stood up to help his mother.

"Eomma, you're awake." he said in relief.

"Y/N," she said again. "Isn't that the name of the girl you always talk about Joonie?" Namjoon gasped and tried to cover her mouth but she swatted his hand away. "You brat, let me speak."

"Eomma, I beg you don't say anything else." he said. He nervously glanced over at you and offered you an apologetic smile. You only found it cute and amusing.

"But I'm only saying the truth. You're always saying how pretty she is. Just now I heard you telling me you miss her."

"Eomma! You heard that in your sleep but you never listen to me when you're awake." he whined. You watched as he tucked her hair behind her ear and how she caressed his cheek so gently. He smiled brightly as she does it. It was an endearing sight. At the end of they day, he was a child who loves his mother. She caught you moving out of the corner of her eyes. Instead of saying anything, she waved you over with her hand. Once you approached, she jokingly pushed Namjoon aside to hold your hands.

"You really are as beautiful as he describes you," she began. "Thank you for coming to visit me."

"Of course, Mrs. Kim. It's so nice to finally meet you after nearly a year. I made you some food, I hope it's okay with your appetite." You gestured at the tupperware on the table next to some of Namjoon's books. He walked over to admire how you decorated each dish like a child. Lips pouting with wide eyes.

"Sweetie, please just call me aunty. And you're too kind." she hummed while patting your hand. It was soothing and if you were lying down, you could fall asleep.

"I figured you haven't eaten and Namjoon would be too busy with taking care of you to go get food for himself." you told her.

She chuckled quietly. "He is very clumsy and forgetful."

"I can hear you." he commented but you both ignored him.

"I'm thankful he has you to take care of him. You're a wonderful girlfriend."

"Oh thank you for saying that. I-" It finally registered in your mind what she said and your cheeks grew red and hot. Namjoon also stopped what he was doing and dropped the tupperware. Luckily, the content didn't spill. His mother looked at the both of you in confusions.

"Did I say something wrong?" she asked. "You are his girlfriend right? It could be the only reason why he talks about you in such great details."

"Eomma," Namjoon said between his teeth. "I already told you. I'm only her tutor and nothing else. There's nothing between us." It was the truth but you couldn't help but be disappointed. What he said the other day, the feelings he described, must have disappeared.

"Oh," his mother said. "Please excuse what I just said then. I'm sorry if it made you uncomfortable."

"No, no, aunty. I'm okay." you told her, the tone in your voice shifted and his mother sensed it.

"Joonie, go call the doctor for me. And take Y/N down to the grass area. It's too stuffy in here for her." she called out to him, who was still in shock and a little embarrassed.

"Oh I'm really okay-"

"Go." she urged on. Namjoon then tapped on your shoulder for you to follow him out. You had expected and wanted him to hold your hand to lead you out, but he kept his firmly at his sides. He talked to the doctor with formality and expertise. He told him how his mother's eyes looked when she woke up and how regular her breathing was. The doctor nodded, patted his shoulder, then walked off to the room. The nurse following him gave Namjoon a wink before proceeding. It only added to your annoyance.

The grass area is mother mentioned was a garden with various flowers and vegetables. A few nurses and some patients were outside tendering it. Namjoon took you to a bench with some shades, overlooking the small pond with water lilies and lotuses floating around. You leaned back into the bench while Namjoon leaned forward, elbows on his knees.

"Are you worried about her?" you asked.

He nodded slowly. "She seems fine, but I know she's feeling a lot of pain right now. The doctor said I need to consider surgery soon."

"If there's anything I can help you with, please let me know." The wind blew through his hair. He pulled his hood closer to his body, but because he was cold, but he just felt like it.

"Thank you, Y/N. I'll get back to tutoring soon, I promise."

"Please, take as much time as you need. I don't mind and I'm sure my parents won't either."

This time, he shook his head. "I don't think I can stay away for much longer. I'll go crazy missing you." he admitted. "My mother told the truth, I talk a lot about you."

"Why?"

"Did you forget already?"

"No. Did you?"

He tilted his head, and once he turned back to look at you, he saw how upset you were. "I didn't forget. I can't forget that I like you Y/N. I still do, a lot."

You let out a loud exhale and almost cried. Namjoon was worried that you might faint. "I'm relieved. I thought that feeling went away and you no longer saw me as special."

"Y/N, you'll always be special to me and I doubt my feelings for you will lessen by any bit. Why would you think that?"

"After you confessed, you didn't say anything else about it. It's been so long since then. And you told your mother that there was nothing between us."

"Y/N, I'm your tutor. It wouldn't be appropriate. What I said might be true, but it has great implications and consequences. I should have thought more before confessing. Besides, I don't even know if you feel the same way."

Out of annoyance and the random adrenaline rush, you pulled on his collar and kissed his lips. He let out a small gasp and froze. His eyes widened and heart beat fastened as his hands hung in the air. His lips were tender and incredibly warm. Slowly, he relaxed and cupped your cheeks. The kiss didn't last long and it was as innocent as any first kiss. It made you dizzy and your brain had bursts of colors. When you pulled back, you tried hiding your face but he held you in place.

"Fuck, Y/N. The things you do to my heart." he smirked. "I really like you." Then he leaned in again.
