You grabbed your axe and walked out into the battlefield, armor clad up throughout your body and dust at the ready. You cracked your neck and smiled once you entered the ring and saw your opponent. Ruby "Rosey" Rose. Why you called her Rosey? Well, it was a nickname you made for her back in Signal as you were close friends with her sister, Yang. Ever since she came to Beacon with you and Yang, you had grown a smile crush on the girl. Nothing overly serious, but she was still cute in your eyes.

She raised her scythe and gave you a smile while you raised your axe. You two dashed towards one another and clashed your weapons against one another. You were able to keep Ruby in a pin and held her down. She, in turn, began to struggle a bit and you pulled your axe back and got her off balance. You kicked Ruby in the stomach and launched her back some. However, you then realized you gave her the opening to use her semblance.

Ruby smirked and dashed around the arena while dealing punches at your chest and head. You knew she was holding back against you when it came to these strikes. It was all a matter of timing with you. You glanced backwards and waited for Ruby's repetition to repeat. After a punch to your leg, you knew her next attack was going to be behind you. You kicked back and got Ruby in the stomach.

After she tumbled back you lunged forward with your axe and slammed it onto the ground and launched some earth dust towards her and launched her into the air once again. You leapt up after her and kicked Ruby down and back onto the ground. The buzzer was called and you both looked over to see that class had officially ended for the day. You both groaned in annoyance before looking at one another and laughing. You walked over and helped Ruby up.

(Y/N): Nice fighting, Rosey.

Ruby: Likewise, (Y/N).

You two just then realized your hands were locked with one another. You both quickly pulled away and laughed awkwardly a bit.

Ruby: I gotta go. Port has an assignment due tomorrow morning.

(Y/N): Right. Well, if you guys want to work on Oobleck's web assign later on tonight, feel free to stop by, ok?

Ruby: You got it. Later, (Y/N).

(Y/N): See ya, Rosey.

With that, the two of you went off. Ruby got back into her room and closed the door swiftly, letting the blush take over her face. She smiled strongly and slide down her door.

Yang: You and (Y/N) having fun, sis.

Ruby: Ya-Yang! What did you say? What did you-

Yang: Ruby, its pretty obvious you have a crush on the guy.

Ruby: Shut up! I do NOT have a crush on him! Besides, he's your friend. Shouldn't you be the one-

Yang: Sorry sis, not my type. Not into nerds all that much.

Ruby: He's not a nerd! He's a smart, caring, thoughtful guy who only wants to-Oh...I do.

Yang: See? That wasn't hard now was it?

Ruby: Yang?! What do I do?! I've never had a crush before!

Yang: Easy sis. I got this.

Meanwhile, you entered your room and sat down at your desk and began to get to work. Work for Beacon wasn't the hardest but it still held a great deal of challenge for you. That didn't matter too much however. As you were working, your scroll went off for a moment. Deciding to take a small break, you checked it out and saw it was a text from Ruby. However, you raised an eyebrow in confusion.

Ruby: Hey! I was wondering if you wanted to go out to the movies? Just you and me.

(Y/N): Yang...give the scroll back to Rosey and stop steeling her stuff.
