Part 85

*3rd person point of view* 

POP! 

The sound of a small puncture sounded like music to Naruto's ears as his ball finally got a hole in. 

"Great it looks like you finally did it kid" Jiraiya said as he came from seemingly nowhere. "Yeah but i only got a small hole. not a explosion like yours" Naruto said as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. 

"Dont get picky now. You worked hard and you got results. Here" Jiraiya said as he pulled out a ice-cream for two and broke one half off for Naruto. "Gee thanks" Naruto said as he grabbed the ice cream before biting on it. 

"Hay Jiraiya sensei. Have you seen Shi by any chance?" Naruto asked while still enjoying his ice cream. 

"Well now that you mention it. I haven't seen him since you two started to second part of the training" Jiraiya said as he looked in the direction of where Shi's chakra is. 

"I wonder if he has gotten it?" Naruto asked as he finished his ice-cream at record time. 

"If i know that boy, he should of nearly mastered this part already." Jiraiya said making Naruto almost chock on his already eaten ice-cream. 

"Mastered!?" Naruto exclaimed. 

"Dont you know? Shi is a perfectionist. He will never leave a jutsu unfinished. If we tell him the Rasengan is not fully complete...well i dont want to know what type of monstrosity Shi will make" Jiraiya said as he visibly shivered at the thought of Shi's jutsus.

"Here why dont i give you a little boost. Stick out your right hand" Jiraiya said to Naruto who did as asked. Jiraiya quickly drew a small spiral in Naruto's hand before explaining. 

"This mark is to help you focus on one specific spot. I want you to explode balls with your chakra again but this time focus on that single spot on you hand got it?" Jiraiya said. A quick nod along with a smile came from Naruto as he immediately got to work. 

While Naruto has worked all day trying to perfect the popping Shi was having a little trouble with something.

"I sense someone who i dont want to meet" Shi said to himself as he got up. Moments before he was simply taking a short break before working again until screams of a certain man filled the forest area. 

Trees in the distance soon were being knocked down as these screams continued. 

"CURSE YOU SARUTOBI" The man exclaimed. Shi's eyes widen at the sound of this man's voice. "Orochimaru.." Shi said softly as fear started taking over his body. He soon started shaking in spot at the man. The only man that Shi could not defeat no matter how hard he would try. The man that make him go through torture in another world..and the man who gave him a curse. 

"I-I need to find Jiraiya sensei and tell him" Shi said as he slowly tried to walk away but his walk soon turned into a run just so he could get away. 

IT felt like hours for the boy until he finally made his way into the hotel where Naruto and Jiraiya were staying. Shi basically fell into the room as he tried to find his sensei, only to see the man passed out and sleeping soundly on the mat with Naruto sleeping a few feet away from him. 

"J-J-Jiraiya sensei" Shi finally blurted out as he caught his breath. His body still shook in fear by only hearing the man's voice. Every night when Shi fell asleep his curse mark would torment him making him fear Orochimaru more and more each day. 

Jiraiya slowly opened his eyes until he saw Shi. His body was filled with scratches and bruises from his training but the sheer expression on his face made Jiraiya shake with anger all the way into his bones. 

"what happed Shi?" Jiraiya asked feeling like he needed to kill the man who made his student look like that. 

"O-Orochimaru" Shi blurted out as he tried getting his breath back. 

Jiraiya's eyes widen at this before nodding at Shi. "Why dont you calm down a little bit ok. We will be leaving the village soon" Jiraiya said knowing well what Orochimaru did to the boy thanks to Kakashi's insight. 

While lightly tapping Naruto Jiraiya woke the boy up. "Get your things we are going to the next village." Jiraiya said before standing up and packing all his things. 

A few grunts came from Naruto as he got out of the bed but his blue eyes soon traveled to see Shi standing at the door. Naruto basically launched off the floor tackling Shi into a hug. "SHI !! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN" Naruto shouted without letting go of his friend. 

"Lets go you two. I have my suspicions on where Tsunade is" Jiraiya said as he slung his bag over his shoulder. 

With a quick nod from the boys, the three of them soon traveled out of the village while covered in the darkness of the night.
