Tomorrow came and went, I didn’t get a chance yet to talk with Ayden and Darius about this odd behavior between the two of them in regards to our relationship. Part of the reason why was I was trying to stay clear of their house as much as possible with those two new Ancient vampires hanging out.

A few days passed as we all plotted and planned and argued about what to do. The Malachi vampire always stared at me like I was a juicy rack of ribs for the pickings, it gave me the creeps.

School was becoming hectic with prom and graduation coming up. Ayden and Darius were more than willing and happy to keep me distracted from questioning them about the little telepathic conversation they had. I wanted to kick myself for not demanding an explanation regardless of my aversion to the current house guests. Either way I would be getting my answers, and I knew I wouldn’t like them.

Odd, how I seemed to just know now how an outcome would turn out.

My father was helping out with the graduation process, my cap and gown, yearbook, and college letters were beginning to come in the mail. I hadn’t opened a single one yet, I didn’t want to. Despite the fact that I wanted to further my education there was this strange feeling in the pit of my stomach it wouldn’t be a concern anytime soon for me.

I ignored it not telling anyone or even thinking about it around Ayden and Darius; I could just imagine their overreactions. Why did vampires overreact? Must be the heightened emotions and the never ending passing of time and culture changes they go through.

Beth was feeling the pregnancy and she had a bump already. It was fascinating to see, but painful for her. She was so tired and was losing weight. Josh looked like he was always in pain as he watched her change.

We would have to bring Layla in soon. This was the current argument that no one could agree on. What was the best way to bring Layla into the mix? So one night in complete frustration and a moment of clarity I just blurted it out.

“I’ll talk to her, alone, none of you can be around, and I will do it when she visits my dad next,” I glared at them all, daring them to challenge me.

If anyone I thought Layla would listen to me the most since all of this was because of my interference into the vampire society. As usual there was a round of protests but I explained my idea and it was agreed upon with much displeasure from my overprotective twosome. Josh and I exchanged a determined look at the end of the night on this one, he understood.

Soon Beth would be coming to stay at Darius and Ayden’s house. She wouldn’t be able to be at home with her parents being pregnant for one and such an accelerated one. There was no good way to explain it. Darius would be altering their minds and her siblings unfortunately until she could return home safely and they would be none the wiser. No one liked the idea but it was the only way to keep everyone safe.

Our plans for the twins depended slightly on Layla being on our side somewhat. If not that would be where Saul and Malachi would come in. Also we were dependent on the distraction of Beth’s pregnancy itself, so everyone was making sure she would be well protected. I would be the bait, much to Ayden and Darius’s annoyance and protests but they saw the logic. This was definitely going to be tricky and dangerous. I just knew someone was going to get hurt, but who was not clear yet.

Ayden and Darius knew my mind was on the fact we had to discuss our little triangle and it would be soon. I wanted to deal with Layla first. She would be visiting for dinner tomorrow so I would be doing my part then. As they took me home tonight though the worry came out in them.

“Are you sure you don’t want us nearby?” Ayden asked warily, I rolled my eyes.

“No damn it, she will hear and smell you and think it’s a trap, I have to get her to trust me and myself trust her you two will just be a problem,” I pointed at each of them glaring them down separately.
