"MOMMY DADDY WAKE UP SANTA CAME!!!" Zada screams as she jumps onto me and Connor. Christmas is her favorite holiday. Me and Connor spoil her with a lot of toys. Well Connor did. I was so busy with school I had no time to get her presents. I didn't even have time to get Alexis a present and I always get her something. I told her I didn't get her anything and she said that's okay because she didn't have time either. "Did you open your stocking honey?" Connor says sitting up straight. We decided to put her stocking in her room so she can open that first and then wake us up. Plus that's also how she knows Santa came. "Yes daddy!!" She screams as she jumps on top of us again. I look over at the clock and its 6:30. My god that child has a lot of energy. "Will you let mommy and daddy sleep longer?" "NO!!! PRESENTS!!!!!!" She screams and Connor then looks at the clock. "It's early jellybean." "I DONT CARE!!!!!" She screams as she rips the blankets off of me and Connor. For a 2 year old she has a lot of sass. "Get off the bed jellybean so we can get up." Connor says and Zada gets off the bed. "Will be down there honey. Don't open anything until we get down there." "Okay mommy!!!" She screams as she runs out of our room. "That child is gonna be the queen of sass when she's older." Connor says as he stands up from the bed. I go to stand up but I'm so tired I just roll off the bed. I don't even get up I just lay there until Connor comes over to me. He looks at me and just laughs. "Help me up!" "For somebody who use to dance you have no balance at all." He says as he helps me up. "It is 6:30 in the morning, I'm tired." I say as we walk downstairs to the living room. "ALL OF THESE ARE FOR ME!!!!!!" Zada screams as she runs over to the tree. Me and Connor sit on the couch while she destroys the presents. "I GOT A NEW DOLLY!!!!!!!!!!!!" She screams holding the box up. She runs up to and hands it to me. "OPEN MOMMY OPEN!!!" She screams and she runs back to the tree. "She has a lot of energy for it being 6:30 am." I say as I start to open the box. "It's because she's excited. Pretty sure once she's done opening the gifts she's gonna pass out." "I know that's what I'm gonna do." I say as I get the doll open. Once Zada is done opening all her presents she comes running to me. "Dolly mommy dolly!" She screams as she jumps up and down. I hand her the doll and she hugs it tightly. "Is grandma and grandpa coming?" She says as she sits right on the floor. She still doesn't really understand that my dad died, I didn't really tell her when he died but I feel like now I should. "Just grandma honey, she'll be here later." "What about grandpa!" She screams and I look over at Connor. "I think it's time you tell her." He says as he picks up the wrapping paper off the floor. I pick her up and put her on my lap. "Do you remember when mommy and uncle Jc went to Texas?" "Yes mommy! You gone for long time!!" "Well, the reason why we were gone so long is because my daddy died." "Grandpa gone!??!" She screams really loud. "Yes honey, he's gone. But he's in a better place now." "Is my daddy gonna die?!" She screams as tears follow down her little cheeks. I look over at Connor and his face is blank. I don't know what to say to her. "Jellybean, I'm gonna die someday but not right now. It's gonna be awhile before I die." He says as he sits down next to me. He then grabs Zada from my lap. "Promise me daddy." "I promise you jellybean." He says as he kisses her on the cheek. Zada then gets off of his lap and runs over to the tree. She picks up a blanket that she got and runs back over to the couch. She throws the blanket at me and then climbs onto the couch, still holding onto her doll. She puts her head on my lap and her tiny legs on Connors lap. She grabs the blanket and covers herself. "Wake me up when grandma here." She says as she closes her eyes. "Told you." "But now I can't sleep because she's on my lap." "Talk to me. I barely see you because of college. I miss being with you." He says giving me the puppy dog eyes. "I miss being with you too." "When do you go back?" "Not until January 9th." "YES." She screams and I hit him. "Don't wake her up!" "Sorry I just got happy." "I understand you barely see me." I say and the Zada sits up straight. She has tears falling down her cheeks. "Mommy." She says as tears fall faster down her cheeks. She crawls over onto my lap and wraps her arms around my neck. "Honey what's wrong?" "I-I had a nightmare mommy." She says as she cries harder into my chest. "What about Jellybean?" "Daddy died and mommy couldn't handle it so she died too." She says as tears fall down her cheeks even harder than before. I look over at Connor and he takes Zada from me. "Like I said earlier jellybean, I'm not gonna die anytime soon and I promise you that." "Mommy too?" "I'm not dying anytime soon honey." She says as she lays back down. I cover her with the blanket again and kiss her on the cheek. "She's the most cutest 2 year old ever." "I want her to stay this young forever. She's my little girl and I want it to stay like that." Connor says as he kisses her forehead. "I want a boy so bad." "You'll get a boy soon." He says winking and I hit him. "Not anytime soon. The factory is closed until we are married." I say and Zada then rolls off our laps. She falls onto the floor with her blanket. "OH MY GOD ZADA." I scream as I get up from the couch and bend down to her. I look at her and she's still sleeping. "How in the world did that not wake her up..." I say as I gently pick her up. "She's a heavy sleeper like me." "Well I'm gonna take her upstairs and let her sleep in her bed." I say as I walk upstairs to Zada's room. I put her down on her bed and cover her with her blankets. I kiss her on the forehead. I go to leave but Zada wakes up and stops me. "Mommy lay with me." She says as she sits up straight. I walk over to her and lay down next her. She wraps her arms around me and closes her eyes. I then fall asleep myself.
