"CONNOR!!" I hear Phoenixx scream from the kitchen. She's helping her mom cook dinner. Normally her mom would make dinner by herself but her mom is still really upset about her husband dying. Today isn't just Christmas, today is their wedding anniversary so Phoenixx wanted to help her so she doesn't do anything stupid. "COME HERE!" She screams really loud. I stand up from the couch and walk over into the kitchen. "Yes?" "Take Zada. She's getting in the way." she says as she points to Zada. "Alright Zada come with daddy." I say as I pick her up from the floor. "I can walk daddy." She says in a sassy time. I put her down and she runs out the kitchen. "COME ON DADDY." She screams from the living room. I walk back into the living room and Zada is near the tree looking through her toys. "What do you wanna do jellybean?" "COLOR DADDY!!!" She screams as she grabs the crayons, makers, and color books. She runs overs to me and throws everything on the floor. She then sits down on the floor and opens the color book. I sit down next to her on the floor. I then open the makers and crayons for her. "Connor I need you real quick!" Phoenixx says from the kitchen. "I'll be right back okay jellybean?" "Okay daddy. Be fast." She says smiling. I stand up and walk to the kitchen. When I get into the kitchen her mom is cutting Apples. "You wanted me?" "Yeah. Take my ring off for me." She says turning around. Her right hand has cookie dough on it. I guess she needs both hands but doesn't want to ruin her ring. "Yeah, what's your mom making?" I whisper as I take off her ring. "Apple pie." She says then all of a sudden I hear a thump. I turn around and the knife is on the floor. Her mom is holding an apple and crying. "MOM." Phoenixx screams as she quickly wipes her hand and runs over to her. I put her ring down and run over to her mom. "Mom what's wrong." "I-I-I m-m-miss h-h-h-him." She say slowly through her tears. "Who daddy?" Phoenixx says and her mom slowly nods her head. She then starts to shake. "A-Apple p-pie w-was h-his f-favorite..." "I know mommy... I didn't want you making it because of that.." Phoenixx says as a tear falls down her cheek. "I-I l-loved h-him a-and n-now he's gone.." She says as tears start to fall faster. She then falls to the ground. "Go upstairs to the guest room and rest. I'll finish making dinner." Phoenixx says as we help her mom up. Her mom then hugs Phoenixx. She then let's go and walks out of the kitchen. "Do you need help?" "No, if I do I'll scream for you." She says and I leave the kitchen. "I MADE THIS FOR YOU DADDY!!!!!" She screams handing me a picture of a fish she colored. "Stay this age forever." I say as I kiss her on the cheek and start to color with her.

-3 hours later-

///Phoenixx's POV///

"MOM DINNERS DINNERS READY!" I scream from the bottom of the stairs. This is the 3rd time I've called for her but she won't answer. She had huge breakdown earlier. I felt so bad. She's been with my dad since they were 13. He was always there for her. She didn't leave when he got her pregnant at 15, didn't leave when she got pregnant with me. He truly loved her and now he's gone. "Go upstairs and get her." Connor says as he puts Zada in her chair. "Okay." I say as I walk upstairs to the guest room. "Mom come on, dinners ready." I say knocking on the door but she doesn't answer. I try to open the door but it's locked. I grab a bobby pin from my hair and pick the lock. "Mom dinners r-." I begin to say as I open the door but stop when I see my mom hanging from a rope from the ceiling fan. My heart stops and I break down in tears. I fall down to the floor and cry. "CONNOR!!!!!!!!!!" I scream on the tops of my lungs. "Phoenixx what wrong?!" He screams as he runs to me. I don't even say anything. I just point up to my mom. He looks up and then back to me. He helps me up and I hug him tightly. I cry into chest. This can't be happening, I'm almost 19 years old and both my parents are dead. "I'll call 911." He says as he goes to break the hug but I don't let him. I hug him even tighter and cry even harder into his chest. "Don't let go." I whisper into his ear as tears fall faster down my cheeks. I really just want to be in his arms right now. "Phoenixx I have to call 911." "Okay." I say breaking the hug. I wipe my tears away and he calls 911. "I'll go downstairs and wait for them, plus Zada is all by herself. I'm gonna take her to Alexis' house." I say as I take once last look at my mom. I then walk downstairs to Zada. "Mommy okay?" She says as I walk over towards her. I go to pick her up but the doorbell rings. I open the door and it's the ambulance. "She's upstairs.." I say pointing to the stairs. They run upstairs and then 2 minutes later come down with my mom on a stretcher. She's in a body bag but her face is still showing. "Where are they taking grandma!!!" "No where Zada, come on where going to see aunt Alexis and uncle Luke." I say panicking as I pick her up. I don't know what to tell her. She just now realized my dad was gone, I can't tell her my mom is gone too. I carry her to my car and put her in her car seat. I then pull out my phone to call Alexis and tell her I'm coming. "Hello?" "Can I drop Zada at your house??!" I say as I start to drive. "Yeah that's fine why?" "Something happened..." "What? Are you okay?" "Yeah I'm fine, I'll tell you later I have a two old in the back who can understand me." "Is she going to spend the night?" "Only if you don't mind. I mean it's Christmas..." "It's cool she can play with the twins." "Okay. I'm almost there. I'll see you soon." I say as I hang up my phone. "Mommy why isn't daddy here!" Zada screams at the top of her lungs. "Daddy needed to stay home. You're gonna be able to play with Zoe and LJ." I say as I pull into their driveway. I get out of my car and take her out of her car seat. I walk to the front door and ring the doorbell. "You look like you've been crying. Are you okay?" Alexis says as she opens the door. "Go to uncle Luke Zada." I say as I put her down and she runs inside. "Close the door." I say and she shuts the door. "What's wrong Phoenixx?" "My mom... She killed herself..." I say as tears fall faster down my cheeks. "I'm so sorry Phoenixx." She says as she hugs me tightly. "I guess she couldn't handle not having my dad by her side.." "Zada can stay here for a couple of days." "I just need her to stay here tonight." I say as I break the hug. "Phoenixx, you're a mess, do you want Zada too see you like this?" "No." "Then have her stay here for a few days until you calm down." "Thanks lex." I say hugging her again. "No problem, just call me when you're ready for her to come home." "Okay, I'm gonna go home." I say as I walk back to my car. I drive back home and once I get home I run inside. I run over to Connor and cry even harder into his chest. "It's going to be okay honey." He says whispering my ear. I just want to be in arms all night.
