Chapter 30:

-Alexis' POV-

~2 Months Later~

It's been 2 months since Phoenixx's wedding. Which means it's been almost 4 months since Luke slipped into a coma. The worse part is he still hasn't waken up yet. After Phoenixx's wedding, I went back to him and his heart rate began to drop and they couldn't get it to stop. I honestly thought I lost him right then and there. But thankfully the doctor got his heart rate back to normal. Ever since then, I'm terrified to leave his side again. I haven't slept in the pass two months either. That sounds crazy but I'm terrified if I fall asleep something will happen to him. I can't lose him, I just can't. He means everything to me and losing him is too much to handle. "He still isn't awake?" I hear Michael say. I turn around and he's walking over to me. "No.." "I'm sorry Lex, he'll wake up soon." He says as he sits down next to me. "It's been almost 4 months Mikey." "I know, but Lex you really need to come back home." "No. I need to stay here. Last time I left his heart rate kept dropping." "Lex you need to get some sleep. It looks like you having slept in months." "I haven't. I can't. I'm scared." "Lex." He says sighing. "You don't understand how it feels to have the love of your life in a coma and you have no idea when he'll wake and if he will wake up. I love him so much and I can't lose him." "I know this Lex but you need to go home and get some sleep." "Michael I told you I can't leave." "What about Zoe and LJ? They miss you. Zoe came up to me the other day and asked if you still loved them." Michael says and my heart shatters into a million pieces. It hurts to think that Zoe actually said that. "Did she really say that?" "Yes Lex she did, LJ cries every night because he wants you." He says and I can feel a tear fall down my cheek. I miss them so much and I want to go home to see them and hug them to death but I'm too afraid to leave Luke's side. "What were they doing when you left we're they sleeping?" "No, they were playing with Ashton why?" "Can you go get them and bring them here?" "Yeah sure." "Thanks, Michael." "Yeah no problem, I'll be back." He says as he leaves the room. Once he leaves, I grab Luke's hand and slightly squeeze his hand. I then start to feel tears slowly fall down my cheeks. The
next thing I know I'm bawling my eyes out and I start to shake uncontrollably. I start to take slow deep breathes hoping it'll help but it doesn't. Finally, after 15 minutes I stop shaking. I stand up and go to get a drink but I feel Luke's hand grab mine. I look up at him to see if he's up but he's eyes are still closed. "Luke?!?" I whisper but slightly scream hoping he's actually up. Sadly, he's not. I sigh quietly. I must be so sleep deprived that I'm starting to imagine things. I let go of his hand and start to walk again. "A-A-Alexis." I hear Luke say slowly. A part of me thinks it's just my imagine again but the other part is telling me it isn't and that it really is him. I slowly turn around hoping he is awake. When I turn around his eyes are open. I can feel tears fall down cheeks but this time it's tears of joy. "Oh my god!" I say as I run over to him. I grab his hand and squeeze it tightly. "W-Where a-am I-I..?" "You're in the hospital.." "W-What h-happened..." He says slowly. "Your withdraw from the cigarettes got so bad your heart started beating so fast, it gave out and you had a heart attack. Then you slipped into a coma. "H-How l-long.." "Almost 4 months." "T-The t-twins..." "What about them?" "D-Do t-they k-know.." "Yes, they do. They really don't understand what happened but they came to see you and they were so happy but upset you weren't awake." "I-I w-want t-to s-see t-them.." "Well, Michael is bringing them here but I think you need rest." "N-No..." "Luke, you just woke up and you can barely talk without stuttering, you need to rest." "I-I w-want t-to s-see t-them A-Alexis." "I understand this but I just want you to get stronger so you can be able to come home." I say and he looks at me with a sad look on his face. "P-Please.." "I want you to rest so you can play with them again. They missed playing with you, just rest for an hour and then you can see them. Okay?" "F-Fine.." He says and I smile. "Thank you." "I-I l-love y-you." "I love you too." I say squeezing his hand. He shuts his eyes and I smile. I'm so happy he's finally awake.
