Chapter 23:

-Phoenixx's POV-

~Couple weeks later~

"Zada come on its bed time!" I scream as both me and Connor chase her down the hall. She has been fighting with me and Connor to go to bed for the pass 2 hours. She refuses to put her pjs on. I have no idea why she's doing this. Shes never done this before. She always cooperates with us when it's bed. "NO MOMMY!!!!!!" She screams as she runs downstairs. Both me and Connor run downstairs to the living room and she's standing there laughing. "Come on jellybean it's bedtime." Connor says as he starts to walk towards her. "NO!" She screams as she starts to run again. "She's normally so good about bedtime." "I think we've reached her terrible twos." "Oh how wonderful." I say as I walk to the play room to see if she's in there and she is. She's standing on the table laughing. "That's enough Zada. It is bed time!" I scream as I walk over to the table. She tries to jump off but I catch her. "Connor I got her!" I scream as I walk out of the playroom. "Finally." Connor says as he walks upstairs. I follow him with Zada kicking and screaming. We get to her room and Connor shuts the door. "Alright Zada bedtime." "NO NO NO!!!!!" She screams as I put her down. I take off her dress and out on her night gown. I put her in my lap and put her hair in a pony tail. I then put her under the covers. "I DONT WANNA GO TO BED!!!" She screams as she throw her doll across the room. "Come on jellybean you gotta go to bed." Connor says as he grabs her doll and places it next to her. "NO." "If you go to bed we will go to the park." I say and her eyes widen. She loves the park so we reward her with the park when she's really good. "REALLY!" "Yes but you gotta go to bed honey." "OKAY MOMMY!!!!" She screams as she lays back down. She then closes her eyes. "I love you baby girl." I say as I kiss her on the cheek. "Goodnight jellybean." Connor says as he kisses her on the cheek too. I turn off her light and we quietly leave her room. "We've gotta start putting her to bed earlier. It's almost midnight." I say as I put my hair in a pony tail. "In our defense we tried to put her to bed at 9." "I know but now she's gonna wake up late and go to bed late again." I say as I crawl into our bed. "Pretty sure that won't be a problem. She'll still wake up early." He says as he covers us with the blanket. "You don't know that Connor." "Trust me. When you stay the nights with Kali on campus she goes to bed at this time and she woke up at 9." "You let her stay up until midnight when I'm gone!" I scream as I sit up straight and look at him. "Only like twice." "I'm gonna kill you." "You wouldn't kill your fiancé." "No but I will hit him with a pillow." I say as I grab my pillow and hit him really hard with the pillow. "Ow!" "That's what you get." I say as I lay back down. "Lesson learned never let Zada stay up until midnight." "Damn right." I say as I go to lay back down but my phone starts to go off. I look at it and it's Luke. Well that's weird. He barely calls me from his phone he either calls me from Alexis' phone or texts me. "Who is it?" Connor says as he lays back down. "Luke. I'll go downstairs and talk." I say as I get up from the bed and answer it.

"Hello?"

"Did I wake you?"

"No, you're good I just put Zada to bed. What's up?"

"I started again."

"Wait what?"

"I started to smoke again.."

"I thought you quit..."

"I caved."

"Alexis is gonna flip shit when she finds out."

"Please don't tell her."

"I won't."

"Thanks."

"Random question. What's Alexis doing tomorrow?"

"Going to see her dad, why?"

"I'm taking Zada to the park tomorrow and I was gonna see if she wanted to bring the twins."

"What am I chop liver?"

"Do you wanna come?"

"Yeah, what time?"

"Around 3, but hey I gotta I think Zada's crying."

"Alright."

I don't even say anything; I just hang up. I put my phone in my bra and run upstairs. I go to Zada's room and she's on the floor crying. I pick her up and hug her tightly. "What's wrong honey?" "I fell mommy." She says between her tears. "Where does it hurt?"I say and she points to her head. I check her head to make sure there isn't any bumps. "Do you want me to kiss it?" I say and she nods her head. I kiss her head and she stops crying. "All better?" "Yes mommy." "Try to go back to sleep." I say as I lay her back down on her bed. I cover her and then leave her room. I go back to my room and Connor is sound asleep. I quietly put my phone in the charger and get into bed. I get under the covers and put my head on his chest.
