Chapter 27:

///Day before Phoenixx's wedding///

-Alexis' POV-

"Alexis?" I hear somebody familiar say in a soft tone. The voice sounds so familiar but I can't really tell who it is. I let go of Luke's hand and turn around. When I do turn around, my eyes widen. It's my mom. I haven't talk to her in over a year since the fight we had. I mean she's tried contacting me ever since then but I would ignore her. She made me so angry and I never wanted to see her agin. One side of me is glad she's here but the other side of me is still mad at her for being here after what she said to me. "Mom..?" I say quietly and she gets the biggest smile on his face. This is the first time I've talk to her. "I'm sorry about what I said last year.. I was obviously wrong." "How'd you find me.." I say completely ignoring her. Her smile then turns into s frown real quickly. "Phoenixx called me and told me what happened. She told me about Luke and the fight you had with her." "Why did you even come? Did you think that I would've forgiven you by now?" "It's been a year Alexis." "So!!! I don't think I'll ever forgive you!" "But why Alexis?" She says and I look at with the nastiest look. Did she really just ask me why? I take a deep breath and look at her. "Did you seriously just ask me why? Mom, you told me that my boyfriend was gonna leave me as soon as I had the twins. You told me he wasn't gonna stay. You said he was gonna be a dead beat dad! That's why I won't forgive you!" "I know what I said Alexis. And I regret it 100%. I was wrong. He's a wonderful father Lex. I see all those pictures of him and the twins you send your father. It's been a year Lex and I just want my daughter back." She says as she tries to hugs but I walk pass her and go back to Luke. I grab his hand and just break down in tears. Not because of what my mom said but because the more she talks about Luke the more I think that he's not gonna wake up. "Just.. Just go away mom.." I say quietly and I hear her footsteps coming towards me. "Honey, I know you hate me right now and don't want me to be here. But, you obviously do need me here. You're going through a lot right now." She says as she seats down next to me. I let go of Luke's hand hug my mom tightly. "I'm so stressed mom..." I say breaking the hug. "About Luke being in the coma?" "Yes but a lot more too." "Tell me." "I'm afraid he won't wake up. I'm afraid my kids won't have a dad to raise them. My kids haven't seen me or their dad in over 3 weeks and the fight between me and Phoenixx had." "He's been in a coma for 3 weeks?" "It'll be 4 weeks tomorrow..." "Have you been home at all?" "No I haven't. I miss them so much, but I need to be here." "Honey, go home and see them. Get some sleep, and also go to Phoenixx's wedding." "I can't. I need to be here." "Honey, you need to get proper sleep." "I know, but I need to be here when he wakes up." "How about this, I'll stay here tonight and all day tomorrow. I'll text you if he wakes up." "I don't know mom.." I say grabbing Luke's hand. "Come on you need to see your kids." "I'll go home and sleep tonight, but I'm coming right back here in the morning." "What about Phoenixx's wedding." "I'm not going.." "Lex.. She's really upset about the fight. She really wants you to be there." "Fine, I'll go. But you have to promise me you'll text me if anything happens." "I will, don't worry." She says as she hugs me. I let go of Luke's hand and leave. I get into my car and drive home. "MOMMY!!!!" The twins scream as soon as I open the door. They then run over to me. I bend down and hug both of them. "If you're home, that must mean he's awake?" I hear Michael say as he walks near me. I stand up and look at him. "No.. He's not...My mom made me come home, she said I need to get proper sleep." "She's right Lexi, you look like you haven't slept in days.." "I haven't." I say as I grab the twins hands and walk over to the couch. It's true. I haven't slept in weeks. I've gotten like 30 minute naps but that's about it. "How are you even awake?" "Lots of coffee." I say laughing. "Mommy play!!" Zoe and LJ scream and I sigh. "Mommy's tired. What about uncle MM?" "OKAY!!!" They scream as they run to him. I get up from the couch and walk upstairs to my room. I don't even bother changing into pjs. I just collapsed into bed and fall asleep.
