For generations, legends speaking of a hero chosen by the gods have been retold all over Hyrule. Some consider them history, while others regard them as merely myths to act as a beacon of light in the darkness of a doomed kingdom.
Among them, one stands out as the most discussed among scholars and historians due to the uncertainty of its veracity and accuracy.
Long ago, there existed a powerful race called the Picori, which helped the Hero of Men to drive out the darkness from the kingdom, granting him their treasured Picori Blade, along with the sacred relic, the Light Force, which would prove crucial to his victory.
From then on, a festival would be held every year in the kingdom, in which a skilled swordsman would be granted the honor to touch the Picori Blade, which now sealed a chest which was believed to hold the Light Force, along with the monsters long sealed away within it.
However, the kingdom's peace would one day be disturbed when one year, the chosen "swordsman", who was, in truth, a sorcerer skilled in the arts of deception, unleashed his power on the blade, opening the chest and freeing the darkness within. The sorcerer, who had once been one of the Picori, had become fascinated by the darkness in the hearts of men, and betrayed his own master and race in order to seek out the sacred power of the Light Force.
The beautiful Princess Zelda, concerned for the safety of her kingdom, tried to stop the evil sorcerer, but was turned to stone by the dark one. However, a lingering ray of light prevailed: the Chosen Hero reborn, with his unwavering determination and courage, traveled through mountains and forests, facing deadly dangers and slaying fierce beasts in order to stop the Wind Mage who now threatened to extract the Light Force from the Princess.
The Hero succeeded in sealing away the evil mage. However, peace did not last long, for the now mad and power-driven monstrosity soon broke the seal on the Four Sword that had kept him imprisoned. And so, he was defeated once more, only to return yet again, and be sealed away by the Hero one last time, once and for all.
Ever since then, records of the Picori Blade and the Light Force have been lost to time, and so it is impossible to ascertain the connection between the Light Force and Triforce that the Three Goddesses left in the Sacred Realm...
Some theorize that the Picori themselves had a connection to the gods... but that, we shall never know.
The Picori have never been seen again since, and the legend has almost been completely forgotten.
The only remnants that it ever existed are the records locked away by the Royal Family, along with the words of the old folk who still await the return of the Hero.
