"Hurry up! I know a shortcut!"

She was behaving like a child. Did she not realize how she looked, grabbing my hand and dragging me around with her like that while she ran through the trees and up the mountain?

"[Y/n], slow down. You're going to trip if you continue running like a hyperactive child."

"Oh, shush! I know my way around here. We're almost there!" She has no regard for her safety, did she?

We eventually stopped at a spot where the ground became more even. Of course, she had run out of air, the fool, and had to crouch down in order to rest for a moment as she caught her breath.

"You're going to be the death of me someday. Must I always watch over you like a baby?"

"Ha... haha... not... quite..." she said, still panting. "You worry too much... In truth... You might be doing it because you feel the need to... maybe..."

Don't be so full of yourself.

"As if." I replied bluntly. "Had I not been here to keep an eye on you these past few months, you would have already gotten yourself killed."

She didn't seem to listen. "Ah, look. There's the bridge. Rito Village is just straight up ahead from here. Let's go."

The footing was steep, and she was still panting from running and climbing so much. And yet, for the first time, I could see this ridiculously infantile side of her.

I became annoyed by how endearing I found it to be.

"[Y/n]!"

Your eyes turned to the sky the moment you heard that familiar voice call your name. Yes, the Rito bard and his daughters had been expecting you, as had been the rest of the village's inhabitants. He landed a few feet away from you, followed by his five daughters; Kheel, Notts, Kotts, Cree, and Genli. The Rito girls ran towards you, overjoyed to see you again.

"[Y/n], you're back!"

"We missed you so much!"

"Is this your new friend?"

"Does he sing too?"

"What is your name, mister?"

Their questions went on and on, not giving you an opportunity to answer any of them. That is when Amali, Kass's wife, came out to calm them down.

"Hush now. You're overwhelming our new friend all too soon. Besides, you still have to prepare for tonight, young ladies."

Tonight?

"Is there another celebration planned for tonight?" You asked excitedly.

"Oh, not just any celebration!" Kass replied happily. "Have you forgotten? You arrived just in time for our annual festival held in the honor of the Great Valoo and in the memory of the sage Medli."

"Not only that, but a Hylian troupe arrived recently, and two of their members are celebrating with us tonight," Amali added. "Plus, Teba's son has finally succeeded in his coming of age, so that is also a cause of celebration."

"So you also plan on doing a symbolic ritual for Tulin to reference how the great Valoo would grant Rito younglings their wings in the times of old?"

"Precisely." Kass nodded. "As you May already have figured out, we will be celebrating for days on end!" He said joyfully. "Oh! But what are we standing here for? The elder wants to see you, [Y/n]! How about we discuss those songs I told you about after the celebration is done?"
