Carti
It's been days since I talked to Aaliyah all because she wanted to be petty. Nothing has happened since Rubi posted what she posted like I said. I know her and if she was going to do some crooked shit it would've been done. I leave for New York tomorrow night and thats the only thing I'm worried about right now.

I sat down on my bed and tapped on Aaliyah's contact. I tapped on the facetime button and it rung for a while before it said connecting.

"You finally done being mad?" I asked as she popped up on the screen.

"I was never mad." She said.

"Okay, I still want to talk." I said laying down.

"Me too." She said.

"You first." I said smiling.

She looked away from the phone and leaned back sighing. She looked like she was stressed and she looked tired as hell.

"The way I reacted wasn't fair and I'm sorry. I realized the way you handle things may not be why I handle things and I respect that." She said.

"I accept your apology and I understand where you were coming from. If anything I should've at least defended you since she brought you into it. I just don't waste time on petty and negative shit." I said seeing her smile.

"I'm glad we could handle this like adults. I'm very proud of us Carter." She smiled leaning forward.

"Me too but I can't believe it took me this long to get ahold of you. That's alright I'll see you soon enough." I smirked.

"I felt bad and realized it immediately but I was nervous to apologize. I'm sorry and I love you and I can't wait to see you." She smiled.

"I love and miss you too, what time is your flight?" I asked.

"I leave at seven but I won't land in New York until midnight. What time is y'alls flight again?" She asked.

"Same time but we'll land at nine. How come you didn't book your flight to fly with us? You could've flown here and then left with us." I asked.

"I'm too busy for that and I have too much work that I need to have done before my flight. I would've loved to do that but realistically it would've made more work for myself." She said.

"You been working too much." I said watching her fret.

"I'm not just an assistant to two people but I'm designing a whole line of clothes. This is all new to me and I'm trying the best I can with what I know." She said sighing

"Who's the second person you're assisting?" I asked.

"You and Ian are a package deal whether I would've decided to be his assistant or not. He deals with the numbers and the marketing more now. I deal with everything else now and I'm grateful for the new responsibility it's just a lot to juggle." She said.

"You need to choose which one is more important to you then." I said.

"Once I'm done with the collab I'll feel better." She said.

"You don't think this collab is going to get you somewhere? Aaliyah eventually you're going to have to live out your dreams. Working for your brother isn't a forever thing and you were brought to California for a bigger purpose." I said and she smiled.

"I'm intrigued tell me more." She smiled.

"I'm just saying you need to start putting yourself first. I see the potential in you and so does everybody else. When the world sees your work and your passion your life is going to change. You need to start seeing that potential in yourself before anyone else." I said
