XXIV: RECONCILATION

JEONGYEON'S POV

The day after tomorrow is the day. The day after tomorrow, I'll be married, I'll be living with a man that is still stranger to me in one roof. And for that, I'm feeling nervous. I don't know what will happen to the both of us. Will we get along with each other?

"Eomma! Your phone is ringing" I came back to my senses when Lia shook my body and showed me my phone.

By the way, I went back to my work at the company though halmeoni wants me not to. I really missed working, I think it's part of my system that cannot be taken away from me.

And by the way, I brought Lia with me since she said she wants to see my office. It's her first time actually to be here.

Lia handed me my phone and I immediately looked at the caller ID but it is an unknown number. I was hesitating to answer it, but answer it still.

"H-hello?" I said with a hesitation on my voice. Then a familiar voice of a woman answered.

"Hello? Jeongyeon-unnie? Is this you? Haven't you changed your number?" she asked on the other line. I quickly creased my eyebrows because of confusion.

"May I know who is this? Your number isn't on my contacts. How did you know my number?" I asked, because no one knows my number except my family.

"Aigoo! You're still the unnie I know. This is Veena. Have you forgotten me?" she answered that made my heart skipped a beat. Veena.

"Veena, Vernon's sister. Am I right?" I asked, hoping that I was wrong with my guess but...

"Ne unnie. Are you busy? I'm here at the Philippines. Don't worry, oppa's still at Korea. Let's catch up. I missed you" she said, maybe she could feel that I don't want to see her brother. I sighed out of relief. Why is she here by the way?

"Okay, text me where and I'll go" I answered and ended the call.

"Unnie!" I quickly spotted her as she called me and she was waving her hand. I immediately went to her.

She chose the place where it is far from the company. It's a cafe. She's a fan of coffee by the way.

She haven't changed after how many years. She's still petite and have a beautiful white skin. Well, she lives in Korea.

Veena is Vernon's sister. While I and Vernon still have a thing, Veena is our number one supporter. She helps the both of us to have time to be with each other. She also was the one who helps us try fixing our fights. She's really a good sister.

But when Vernon and I ended breaking up, she was also the one who was hurt the most. She also stop talking to me maybe because she's ashamed of her brother's action. Her brother was really a scumbag.

"Oohh! Veena! You're still pretty like what you were the last time I saw you. You're turning into more gorgeous adult" I greeted her while squeezing her cheeks. She pouted.

"Unnie!" she complained then slapped my hand. I chuckled because of her reaction. "You really turned into pretty woman huh unnie. Do you have boyfriend? Family? Husband?" she asked while giving me a suspicious look. I wanted to laugh with what she said but I just couldn't. I remember that I will be married the day after tomorrow.
