"Oh... My aching everything..." Jack says groggily. The most Jack could remember was a redhead girl egging him on to play a quick game of basketball, taking up the challenge, and missing a dunk. Now that he's regained his senses, he's found himself at the infirmary with a nurse looking over his head. "...Hello?"

"Oh I have not introduced myself. I'm Nurse Kurashiki." The nurse says.

"How did I end up here?" Jack asks.

"Well, according to this young girl here you missed... What do you call it, a slam dunk?" Nurse Kurashiki asks out loud. "Well anyways you fell quite the ways down and hit your head pretty hard."

"I'm sorry, I really shouldn't have taunted you like that." Another voice says sorrowfully. Jack turns to his left to see that same redhead, purple eyed girl that was egging him on.

"...Who are you?" Jack asks, not able to remember much more.

"I'm Mina." The girl replies. "The one who was all like "Come on! I bet your grandma can shoot hoops better than you!", that?"

"Oh now I remember..." Jack says. "But I can't really remember much further back..."

"Oh no..." Mina says worriedly.

"Sounds like you've got amnesia..." Nurse Kurashiki says. "But according to what you said, it might not be as bad as we may think."

"Wait what? I don't understand." Mina says, confused.

"He probably has what's called temporally graded retrograde amnesia. Let me ask you this young man, how much can you not remember?" The nurse asks Jack.

"I can't really remember what I did last month." Jack says as his memories from the past month turn out blank.

"That just about confirms it. I'm not sure when you'll recover those memories but it will be in given time." Nurse Kurashiki says. Jack swore he could hear Mina mumble something along the lines of "Nobody cares about me..." and he turns to her, startling her.

"Huh did you hear that?!" Mina asks quietly. "You weren't supposed to hear that you idiot!" She suddenly shouts.

"Whoa... Are you okay?" Jack asks.

"Yes I'm fine." Mina suddenly replies in a tone-deaf voice.

"Don't mind her." Nurse Kurashiki says. "She was hit in the face with a basketball and she has memory loss, as well as these mood swings. She's a frequent visitor."

"And it would appear that I've joined her this time." Jack chuckles. "But seriously are you okay? You can't say that and not expect someone to hear."

"Yeah, I'm really fine. It's just my memory loss can get the best of me at times." Mina replies. "Knowing I won't be able to completely recover just makes me... Sad almost."

"Hey, we'll get through this together, even if I will recover my memory eventually." Jack says.

"Say what's your name? I never really got to know it." Mina asks. "Either that or I've forgotten."

"That's Jack." Nurse Kurashiki butts in, unsure if Jack can remember his name at the moment.

"Thanks." Jack says to the nurse. "Saves me a little trouble."

"Come back every now and then so I know how your recovery is going. Just avoid any more head trauma and you should be fine." Nurse Kurashiki says. "I look forward to seeing you again." She adds, blowing a kiss. Jack is a little weirded out by the nurse's gesture, but leaves with Mina either way.

"Well I do hope your memory comes back soon. If you had any projects before this happened, I would feel so bad for you to have forgotten." Mina says.

"I'm pretty sure my classmates can help me remember." Jack replies. "Don't sweat it."

Jack's thoughts: Initially I thought Mina was a pretty brash girl, seeing she taunted me like that, but hey, that's something she can't control. All in all she seems like a pretty nice gal- just don't get in the way of her more irritated moods should she swing into one of those.
