As Jack decides to head out to the tennis court, racket in hand, he goes to find someone to play against.
"Hm... Who shall I play?" Jack says to himself. "I think I want to challenge myself." He chuckles as he walks over to a girl. She has lavender hair with two flower hairclips and her purple eyes stare at him fiercely.
"Wanna play a few games?" The girl asks. "I'm the captain of the tennis team, Mirai!"
"Captain of the tennis team huh? Sounds like a great challenge. I, Jack, will be your challenger!" Jack replies as the two get on their sides. "How are we playing?"
"We'll keep it relaxed. Whoever scores, the other person serves." Mirai replies as is first to serve and she delivers a mighty overhand, but Jack just manages to hit it back into her side as it bounces once. Mirai then catches the ball before it hits the ground again with a powerful smash, bouncing the ball off Jack's side and away from the court.
"Surprised?" Mirai asks.
"I shouldn't be surprised given I'm going against the captain herself." Jack replies as he retrieves the ball and serves. He smashes the ball just like Mirai did, and she's unable to return it as it bounces once and then off her side.
"You have a good arm, but mine is better!" Mirai shouts as she smashes the ball upon serving. Jack is quick as he returns the ball with another smash, and the two trade smashes before finally Jack hits the ball off to the side, rendering it out.
"I don't know my own power sometimes!" Jack chuckles as Mirai serves. The game continues like this until they reach a deuce, and Mirai prepares to serve as she stares into Jack's eyes.
"You're going down." Mirai chuckles as she smashes the ball and Jack fails to return, giving her the advantage. Jack crushes her hopes though as he smashes the ball and she can't return it, resulting in another deuce.
"I have a feeling we'll be locked in these deuces for quite a few games." Jack chuckles as Mirai serves once more and smashes the ball, and Jack manages to return it, but the ball goes flying high into the air as both players attempt to get to the ball. It lands on Mirai's side, giving Jack the advantage. "Ready to lose?"
"Like I would!" Mirai laughs as she aims and smashes the ball! Jack returns with an equally powerful hit, and the two trade off once more until finally, Mirai smashes the ball with everything she's got! Unfortunately instead of bouncing off the ground, the ball rockets into Jack's forehead before he hits the ground, out like a light. When Jack regains his senses, he's in the infirmary with a exasperated Nurse Kurashiki looking over him.
"So you've ended up in here again..." Nurse Kurashiki giggles. "How is it that you get injured so many times?!"
"Sorry..." Mirai says awkwardly as she looks over Jack. "I didn't think it was going to hit you..."
"Well good going, captain." Jack chuckles, putting emphasis on the word captain.
"Hey! Stop trying to make me feel even more guilty than I already am!" Mirai whines.
"Hey, you're the one that landed him here in the first place." Nurse Kurashiki chuckles as she removes an ice pack from Jack's head. "You're lucky that you don't have a concussion, but if the ball managed to hit you that hard, I think you need to put a check on your power Mirai."
"I said I was sorry!" Mirai whimpers. "Uuu!"
"Hey, at least I'm still here." Jack chuckles. "Don't sweat it, at least I enjoyed the match."
Jack's thoughts: Powerful is an understatement. She managed to knock me out with a TENNIS BALL. Just imagine how strong of a punch she could land if she needed to do such a thing!
