It wasn't uncommon to find Jack resting his eyes in the hallways whenever he wasn't doing anything between classes, and he wasn't one that was often seen in the cafeteria either.
"Even then, why did I pick the shoe lockers again?" Jack asks himself before he dozes off. Not even a few minutes pass when he suddenly gets jolted awake by a bright flash. When he gets back on his feet his eyes meet a pair of emerald green eyes and her red hair has been styled into odd upwards curving pigtails. "What the heck? Did you just take a picture of me?"
"I did." The photographer replies. She holds an old camera that looks like it came straight out of Harry Potter and the picture pops right out the bottom, developing as soon as it comes out. Jack catches the photo, and she's captured his relaxed state pretty well.
"You in the photography club?" Jack asks. "This is pretty interstellar!"
"Thanks!" The girl replies. "I'm Riina."
"I'm Jack." Jack says as he gets on his feet and hands her the picture. It's then that Jack's stomach starts rumbling. "Man I didn't eat lunch yet. Luckily I got a little something for myself." He says as he pulls out a disposable container and chopsticks. He opens up said container to reveal seafood upon seafood: various bits of fish, shrimp, lobster, crab, squid, cuttlefish and many more, but what really catches Riina's eye is the octopus that's buried deep inside the container.
"Is that octopus?" Riina asks.
"Yeah. I feel like I got too much though." Jack chuckles. The container is twice the size of a normal bowl, almost as if it was expected to be eaten by two people. "Want some? They gave me an extra pair of chopsticks for some reason."
"I'd love to! I didn't exactly eat much myself." Riina says as she takes the other pair of chopsticks and both of them chow down. "Are you a pescetarian?"
"I just really like seafood." Jack says as they continue to eat. "So what kinds of pictures have you taken for the photography club?"
"I..." Riina begins to trail off. "More often than not, they aren't for the club."
"Please explain." Jack says.
"I make lots of money by selling photos to guys." Riina replies.
"Do you? I'm interested." Jack says.
"I only work with the most beautiful girls to make sure I get a good market." Riina explains. "I'll pay them once the pictures are taken, and then I'll go up to various guys and ask. More often than not they are more than interested, mesmerized and willing to pay over a hundred bucks just to see what they want." And with that she lets Jack review some of these pictures that she's taken. Jack is interested in the pictures that Riina has taken but that's about it as he simply hands the camera back. "Man, not even a nosebleed? You're a pretty hardy young man when it comes to stuff like this."
"How do guys usually react?" Jack asks.
"You're literally the first guy that's had no reaction. The least I saw was a nosebleed, and the most that I've gotten from guys was drooling over the pictures." Riina replies. Jack is visibly grossed out, but recomposes himself.
"Hey, you gotta make money somehow, even if it's immoral." Jack says. "I'm not one to objectify a woman, and the last time a guy tried perving on a woman I was the one to stop him."
"You're a real gem." Riina says, patting Jack's back.
"Thanks." Jack says as they finish up the last of their food.
"You wouldn't mind getting another picture of you taken?" Riina asks.
"Can I strike a pose?" Jack asks back, and Riina nods in agreement.
Jack's thoughts: While Riina's way of making money is controversial to me, I'll let it slide. It's a dog-eat-dog world outside of the academy, and maybe perhaps this will become her main method of moneymaking. I just hope for the best for her.
