I'd been so caught up in this trial that I had been totally ignoring all the signs Right up under my nose. My body was calling for help and as expected Steph was correct.
The extreme fatigue was a sign. I was dehydrated and had developed Gestational Diabetes. As if that wasn't enough they were concerned about my blood pressure levels. The doctors kept me for testing and monitoring to assure I didn't put myself or the babies in danger. Through all of the ultra sounds, monitoring vitals, blood work, Ivy's, and different medications the need for sleep had swept over me dramatically.
Each time I awoke Steph was by my side as I laid in bed drowsy and in and out.
"What day is it?" I asked awakening to the open window which only reflected the midnight skies. Steph laid on the chair in the corner lifting his head as I spoke. He responded as if I had been in a coma and was just coming to.
"Sleepy head. You finally up. It's almost Tuesday Morning."
"Tuesday." I managed to repeat feeling the sleepiness still lingering. "What happened to Monday and Sunday. I got here Saturday?"
Steph's warm hand rested on my forehead as he leaned down kissing my cheek figuring he'd awaken me like sleeping beauty.
"You still sleepy. You look so gorgeous." He uttered before I drifted back into the sleep that had been pulling at me once again.
The first time I fully awoke was Tuesday Morning to my mother and the kids.
"Mommy!" Gigi squealed as I set up.
"Hey girly!"
"I've missed you Mama Madi! Your hair looks a mess though. Can I fix it?" She volunteered overly excited.
"Come here sweet girl, im always here you don't ever have to miss me."
Gigi wrestled her way onto the child size bed I was positioned in and kissed my chin.
"But every time you and daddy argue, you take power and Allure and not me. What else am I supposed to do? I love you being with my daddy and being my mommy."
Her little words brought tears to my heart to know how selfish I had been.
"I'm sorry baby. How about I make you a promise, daddy and I won't argue anymore, and if we do. I'm take you with me." I pinched her cheek kissing for her forehead.
"Pinky promise." She smiled.
"Pinky pinky pinky promise."
"Ok now let me fix this hair."
"Well we have alittle room up here. Why don't I sit up and you can get this way." I suggested watching that beautiful smile appear across her face as the door opened and Steph entered gripping our attention.
"Look at all my favorite people, I brought back breakfast." He greeted carrying the bags from Chic fila over.
"Gigi dived off the bed with me rushing over having us all giggle.
"Well just kick me to the curb."
"It's nothing personal Mama, I just love my nuggets."
"She's gonna turn into a chicken nugget." Power hummed shaming his head as Allure crawled into my arms.
"I missed you mommy and I won't kick you to the curve."
"Awwww mommy missed you more, you look so pretty."
"Do I? Thank you. I look like you."
