My mother going back to work, was probably the only good thing that brightened both of our day.

Between everything with Dad and Rick, my nerves were literally out of wack.

However taking the kids to mom's office and setting up, gave us time to bond and ended up being pretty therapeutic.

Power and allure were having the time of their lives playing and actually helped clean up.

"What do you have a taste for?" I asked, finally settling into my moms office chair.

"I'll eat whatever the kids eat."

"You sure about that? Chicken nuggets is all those kids of mine eat."

"Well then chicken nuggets it is." My mother chuckled. "Just make mine grilled, gotta watch the cholesterol I ain't young as I use to be."

"Will do, old lady. I'll take Allure with me, she needs to see the menu to order. I'd hate to bring the princess back the wrong meal. One day she loves chicken nuggets the next day she hates them."

I traveled to the waiting room where my children were playing their little lives away. I smiled, admiring what I had made. Regardless of the circumstances.

"I thought you two were cleaning up?"

"Yeah now we're un-cleaning up." Allure grinned mischievously.

"You are bad. Power I'm gonna take this dare devil with me, keep grandma company."

"Cool, I'll straighten up in a minute, where ya goin?"

"Chic fil a, you have any special request?"

"Nah just chicken nugget-."

I chuckled interrupting, "12 count with a fruit punch."

"You know me well."

I couldn't do anything else but laugh, power was an old man stuck in a boys body.

Allure and I packed into the car and made the ten minute drive to chic fil a, where the line was wrapped around the building.

"Can we go in? You can order while I play." Allure suggested eyeing the huge jungle slide on the inside of the restaurant.

I didn't bother to argue, it would probably be a shorter wait. So I agreed.

I kept a close eye on Allure after ordering half the menu it seemed, when the familiar face I didn't plan on seeing for quite some time entered.

It was almost like seeing a ghost. I stood in my tracks, eyes planted in their direction, unable to look away.

"Madison." Angela stated, father than questioned.

"Hi."

"Don't look so flustered."

She obviously saw the color leave out of my face, as she placed her daughter off her hip.

The little girl had the same features as my little allure. I couldn't help but look at her and think, a monster created her too.

"Hey Kay." I managed to utter, disregarding Angela.

"Hi."

"Kay, babe, do you want to go play for a second?"

She nodded looking up at her mother, who glimpsed back to see Allure playing her life away.

"Hey look your sisters over there, go have fun." And without a second guess she took off rushing over.

The moment was short lived because I knew the only reason Angela had gotten rid of her, was to speak her mind without holding back. Hopefully the public place hinted for her to show discretion.

"You don't surprise me anymore Madison. The lawyer gave us the update that you're going forward with the case. After everything Rick has been through. Everything. You still manage to freeze that heart of yourself ruin my life with one more try."

I was honestly at a lost and even though I should have, I didn't expect this. "Now isn't the time or place Angela."

"No, it is- and it will be. I've been dealing with this shit far too long. Trying to figure out why in the hell my life, my kids life, and my peace of mind is going straight to hell. It's because you are at the center of it. He tried to kill himself for heaven sakes. Does that now mean anything to you."

"He showed up to where I was-."

"No... he showed up to his fathers property. You see what I mean. You continue to make everything about you. You are sick. I can't believe for one moment I actually thought my husband raped you. You are damaged, you are sick, and you are going to leave my family the hell alone."

"Look Angela I'm not going to do this with you. This does not concern you. You can live in denial all the hell you want. Rick and I know what happened."

"Oh-bitch- DONT even patronize me. You've been throwing yourself at my husband for the last decade and now all of a sudden when you realize he will never leave me and his family this rape bull shit starts. I'm going to warn you. This case will not end pretty. And it won't be how you want. I promise you that. Now enjoy your little time."

"Angela don't threaten me."

"Or what?! You're gonna shoot me? Like you did that other innocent boy?"

"You know what-I'm done entertaining you. Ricks going to be behind bars and you- I hope you learn to live in a shelter."

"A shelter? -."

"ORDER FOR MADI." The cashier yelled disrupting our discussion. I took advantage of the moment to walk away from Angela. But I knew she wouldn't let it go. After retrieving the bags, I made my way pass her with my head held high.

"You won't win this game Madison. And we'll have Allure back with us. Where she belongs."

"I'll see you in court."

I collected Allure without giving a second look in her direction. I couldn't believe how she had switched the flip.

Just months ago, she was coming to her senses. Now all of a sudden she has turned for the absolute worse.

I guess ricks suicide attempt scared her into believing anything he said.

As I tucked crossed the parking lot heading to my car, I managed to see Rick sitting in the driver seat of a white jaguar eyeing me like a tiger does it's prey.

The thought of him ever touching me brought discomfort to my very soul. Let alone the way he looked at me was one of concern.

I didn't know what Angela's motive was, but from the way she spoke. This was definitely about to be the fight of my life.

It wouldn't be my first though. Now I had three beautiful beings to fight for and I wasn't for a second going to lose this war.
