I avoided everyone calls for the next 24hrs. Steph, I, and the kids had a family day just us and his mother flew back home until the trial so we were peaceful in our own little world without the pain and ache from the outside world.

I loved this moment of just bonding. Vrai has gotten so much healthier that we took the kids to meet her as a family. Power was so accepting and excited, Gigi was laying down the ground rules, and Allure was just amazed at the sight of a baby. I had to explain everything over to her. She almost cried with the news that she wasn't the baby anymore.

Steph and I chuckled uncontrollably.

"Can I go see Daddy Rick?" She asked catching us all by surprise.

"Why?"

"Because over there I'm still the baby... and I miss him. He use to take me to the big big park, and read to me, and Angie would polish my nails." My heart sunk the more she went on. I knew it shouldn't because she was just a baby but gosh I was so saddened to hear her actually recognize them as her family and even want to go spend time with them. Rick noticed my face and pinched my cheeks.

"You're still our baby Lolo don't make me cry. Am I not still daddy Steph?"

"You're daddy." She gushed hugging him as he lifted her up.

Power kissed my cheek out of no where.

"I missed you mama."

"You saw me every day son."

He chuckled, "excuse me for tryna make you feel good."

"Powerrrr don't bother me. You always teasing your mama. Why?"

"Because I love you. Or because you easy to pick on."

"Well thanks son." I smiled sarcastically pulling him in for a quick peck on the cheek.

"I didn't think you would be so stupid to have rented a home from him! Do you understand what kind of jeopardy you put me in, I was there ALONE!" I yelled franticly at the phone as my mother tried desperately to explain herself. Only I wasn't thinking logically to listen to her excuse.

We had taken 10 steps forward and now 50 steps back. Our relationship would forever be on rocks at this rate. There was too much going on for my mother to ruin my joy.

We had got the news that Vrai could go home! And I was nervous as hell!

Steph however was handling it like a champ. He had the car seat prepared and everything. As I pulled the car around I bumped into Angela.

Both of our facial expressions said everything, silencing a moment of awkwardness.

"How are you?" I managed to force out.

"You want the truth or a lie." She sung bitterly. "Ricks being released from psychiatric evaluation but it doesn't end there. I don't know what's been going on with my life these last few years but." She shrugged shaking her head as if she'd wake up from the bad dream. "Anyhow-I know you have better things to do...congrats on the babies how are they!" She asked.

"One comes home today. The other is in Heaven."

Her facial expression changed to genuine sympathy. "I'm sorry Madison."

"It's okay. Thanks though. Look regardless of what's happening—."

"You don't even have to say it. He's unable to stand trial right now. I'm sure of it. Rick isn't Rick. I guess he has himself to blame if everything's true."
