Sitting at the top of the cliff, I was enjoying the moment of deja vu.

Steph was even more handsome than I remembered. His beard was shaped so nicely and the tape line just gave me "Impregnate me Now Vibes!"  I had obviously forgotten who my husband was. I was a lucky girl.

Steph lit the blunt glimpsing over to catch me admiring him.

He let out a chuckle. "What girl?"

"Nothing."

"Oh now you shy."

"I'm not shy, I'm just admiring what's mine."

"Ohhhh I'm yours huh?" He repeated lighting the blunt and inhaling deeply.

"Steph. I wish I had this experience in college."

"What matter is now. I got you and nobody gone ever have you again. They young niggas was squares. They don't know how to value a beautiful girl transitioning into a woman."

"You always try to make me feel so good."

"Try? I do make you feel good, that's what I'm suppose to do as your husband."

"That sounds so good. I don't think with everything going on I got to adjust to this....us.."

"I needed you. I remember the first day I laid eyes on you. I said I HAVE TO HAVE THAT."

"That?" I blushed giggling.

"Exactly THAT. You was just so fine and gorgeous. I never seen a woman so beautiful before, I was mesmerized by how you carried yourself as a mother."

"Well that's comforting, it's funny because I didn't realize you were the one."

"Oh I remember you giving me the run around, all I wanted was a damn shrimp meal."

"That's right! You and that damn shrimp."

"I knew I'd have you cooking shrimp butt booty naked for me, for the rest of my life."

I couldn't help but chuckle at his humor. The funny thing was that he was actually serious. Sitting there inhaling and exhaling before passing the blunt to me

"I better not. I have that case, I don't know what tricks Rick will pull out his sleeve."

"You're right. Listen, I want you to be honest with me."

"About what?"

"Your fears."

"My fears?"

"Any and everything you fear. Tell me about it. I don't want you holding this shit in. If you're going to go off to L.a. I need to know what your fears are. It could be anything. I just want to know. Tell me your fears."

I set there in silence for a moment thinking. I didn't expect this but Steph had asked the one thing I needed to address. My fears.

Laying my head back on the leather seats of his Mercedes and glimpsed again the city.

"I fear a lot."

"Tell me."

"I fear not being a good wife, mother, daughter."

"Mmhm."

"I fear the day I have to tell My children they're both products of rape, I fear that God won't forgive me for killing Kamron, even though it was self defense. I fear—."
