By Wednesday I was released to be on bed rest and strict conditions since I was now high risk and could possibly lose 1 or both of the twins.
That was probably the worse news I heard. It seemed like everything was hitting me at once.
Steph was in the house but not in the house if you know what I mean. He was there to make sure I ate and got the necessary foods and assistance of getting in and out of bed. But we spent little to no time together. He was constantly using the excuse of work and I just didn't have the energy to argue the facts.
To make matters worse my mother was relying on me more than ever. Calling me every ten seconds in. Shambles about my dad. What she didn't know, was because I didn't have the energy I was angry as hell with her. How could they allow me to miss such an important trial, why would no one around me be concerned about the trial, only engaged in their own lives and small battles when I was in the middle of a war.
Something told me not to trust rick but with everything going on with my health I didn't have time to reach out to Ford or my father. And evidently neither the hell did Steph or my mom. The people who I was most relying on, let me down, purposefully.
One evening in the bedroom where I had been bed ridden for the last 48hrs the news was announcing that the charges had been dismissed against rick and his big return. I was being scrutinized and called out as a liar. The girl who cried wolf.
I found the strength I was convinced I didn't have to cripple out of bed, contriving the remote to turn the television off and sit in my own silence.
"You shouldn't be out of bed mama." Power alerted, entering my bedroom.
"Don't tell the warden." I smiled embracing him onto what was left of my lap.
"Are the babies okay?"
"Yes they are. They're little troopers. Just like their big brother."
"Are you feeling better now?"
"Yes I am. Would you like to have some dinner?"
"Mama it's lunch time, not dinner. Besides you shouldn't be cooking. Steph said you're on lite duty soooo how about I cook you some lunch."
"I'm fine baby I can move and groove. I Still can out dance you."
"Yeah yeah yeah. Show me something."
I giggled as Power rose to his feet doing the latest dance, moving like a performer.
"You right I definitely can't out do that. I'm alittle more ole school." I smiled rising to the occasion and doing the electric slide moves.
"You are garbage mama. That's so 1930, you moving like a robot please don't ever do that in front of my friends better yet... don't do that dance ever again."
"Well then you need to teach your mama alittle something something show me how you do the lil dance you was doing."
Power face palmed grinning hysterically as I attempted to memorize the little steps he was doing in his dance routine. Botching it up horribly.
"Ok ma, lets just leave this alone and head downstairs." He demanded shaking his head as he grabbed me by the hand leading me down the hall ways and stairs teasing me about my embarrassing attempt to beat him at dancing.
"Can we go to the lady in grandmas town? The little shop you took me to before my other grandpa died"
I smiled feeling my heart warmed with the memory.
