*Sarah's POV*
Today's the day that Carol and John will finally know that me and Levi are dating.
It's been almost a month and we hadn't told them yet since that they have been on their honeymoon.
Me and Levi have been spending every single day together and I'm afraid he's gonna become too attached to me. It's just about a week left for my plan. I still hadn't made up my mind yet though. We arrived at the the airport and waited a while for our best friends to arrive. We learned that their flight was delayed so it wasn't gonna arrive for the next hour. We sat in a Starbucks near the airport and just had a semi date.
"You know Sarah, we really needed you to join our small group of friends. You lit it up," he said sweetly and gave me a swift kiss as we sat down.
"Aww, I really thought I'd regret it at first but now I think it's the the best decision I've ever made," I replied, happily meaning every word.
"No, I think the best decision you've ever made is that you stopped thinking about suicide," he said with the biggest smile on his face.
Oh Levi, if only you could see what's going on in my head..*Levi's POV*
She's holding her head again and I know that she's having another headache.
"Did you go to that doctor's appointment," I asked hoping she would have done it and just stop postponing it. She shaked her head and I sighed. Whatever is really important to her and shouldn't wait she just sends to the back of her mind. "The appointment is today but I won't go," she said taking a sip of her latte.
"No Sarah, we are going," I said leaving the money on the table and dragging Sarah behind me.The wait for the doctor was long and nerve wracking. Lots of people waiting for their life to change; to the better or to the worse. "Sarah Stiles, would you join me?" asked the nurse and we followed her immediately as we heard Sarah's name. They did check ups and asked a ton of question and it was time to finally know what was the cause of her terrible headaches. "Sarah, would you like to listen or should I tell him alone?" he asked Sarah quietly which honestly freaked me out. "I, I wanna listen," she said sitting down. "Tell me Sarah, how long have you been having headaches?" asked the doctor. "About 2 to 3 months," replied worriedly. I smiled to her a weak smile to tell her that everything is okay. He sighed quietly and I knew that this wasn't going to end well. "You have brain tumor and unfortunately its in the last stage. Brain tumor isn't easy to be diagnosed in the first stages as you feel nothing so don't worry Sarah, you did nothing wrong. I will write you some stuff that we should do to make the pain better, I'm sorry," he said handing us a piece of paper.
My world is crumbling right in front of my eyes and I have nothing to do about it.The ride home was silent. Whenever someone opens their mouth to speak, no words come out. The shock just never leaves my system, our systems. As we entered the apartment, she just started chuckling. I looked at her with a puzzled look on my face. "I'm going to Rose," she said with a huge grin on her face. "No, no Sarah. There's always a chance," I said feeling my eyes beginning to water.
"Levi, babe, we are talking about cancer here. The unforgiving disease. There's no chance," she said with her eyes sparkling yet the smile never leaving her face.
"Don't leave me," I whispered quietly allowing the tears to take place in my cheeks.*Sarah's POV*
"Babe, its gonna be okay, I promise. I'll always be here," I said pointing to his heart and pulling him in a hug.
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry.
I kept on reminding myself until my tears betrayed me and started prickling down.
We stayed in the hug for a couple of minutes just don't want to let go.
"C'mon we need to go to Carol and John. They're probably waiting," I said trying to change the subject lightly.
John and Carol probably have just arrived about 5 minutes ago.
We dashed to the airport and stood waiting for them. Minutes later they appear and it's like they've been gone for years. We hugged and shared our 'miss yous' and went to Carol and John's place.
They got us a few presents and then it was time to tell them that we are now dating.
"We have exciting news that will thrill you," said Levi excitedly, although I know that he's broken to pieces from the inside.
They started begging us to tell them while we teased them for a while.
"Okay okay, Me and Sarah are dating," at the same time I said, "I have brain tumor."
They didn't have any reaction. They couldn't be happy and also couldn't be sad or angry.
Carol hugged me and started crying. "I'm happy that you guys finally got together but, but why? why you?" she started sobbing loudly. I gave her a comforting hug. John whispered that he's happy for us then he excused himself to go to the bathroom.
The night was pleasant. We enjoyed ourselves and Carol and John told us some stories that they had there. No one could move on from my news but they tried to pretend that it's no big deal so they don't make me feel uncomfortable. I really am lucky to have these friends.
As soon as we went home, I went to my calendar and crossed out the date. There is no need for it now.
