I was extremely glad that they boys had liked their costumes, and that we were going to be a crime fighting team together.
The next day at lunch, the four of us sat at our normal small table along the wall. “Okay, so I feel like we should have a sign when one us in about to fight trouble or something, so then the rest of us can get there and then we can do it all together.” Calum said, keeping his voice low.
"Maybe we could just text or something." Michael suggested.
"That’s not a bad idea," Ashton agreed. I guess we could make a four-way one."
"Where are all of your costumes at this moment?" I asked.
"Mine is in my backpack."
"Backpack."
"Backpack."
"So is mine," I nodded. "We need to start having them with us as much as possible.
"Hey, Luke," I felt someone standing behind me. I looked at Michael, trying to look for a sign of who it could be. He wiggles his eyebrows at me, and then I knew.
"Hey, Brianna," I turned around to look at her, but my gaze fells down to my hands fairly quickly. "W-what’s up?"
"Just coming to say hello," She smiled at me.
"Hi!" Michael butted in.
"Hi, Michael," She grinned at him too. She was so sweet, and so pretty. “Am I interrupting?”
"No," I answered. "We’re just talking about normal, boring guy stuff, nothing out of the ordinary."
"Oh, well, I guess I’ll see you around Luke." She turned around and walked away.
"Bye, Brianna," God, was I in love with her.
"You need to do something, lover boy." Ashton elbowed me in the ribs. I was mesmerized watching her walk away, ponytail swinging from side to side. I winced at the pain, and then entered back into the conversation.
"You should get working on it too, Smash." I retorted. Ashton was chasing after Elle. Elle was an extremely popular girl with blonde hair. She was really smart and hadn’t had many boyfriends. She preferred studying over dating.
Ashton looked embarrassed, then looked down at his food on the table. I kind of felt bad. We all knew that she was out of Ashton’s league, and it would take quite the miracle to get her to fall for him.
"Anyway," Calum broke the awkward silence. "We should get together after school and do some crime fighting or something."
"One thing, though," Michael interjected. "We can’t just walk down the streets in our costumes, and I’m pretty sure non of us can fly. So, we need a form of transportation."
That’s another thing that I hadn’t told the guys. I had my own version of the Batmobile that I had also created myself out of an old car. “Meet at my house after school, I know how to solve our problems.” I replied.
After school, we all walked to my house and changed into our suits quickly. we stood in my garage, surrounded by my dad’s woodworking and his old, dented car.
"Is this what you were talking about?" Ashton asked and pointed at the piece of junk, then looked at me like I was absolutely insane.
I went to the wall, flipping a switch. My dad’s car was lifted on a panel high up as the garage ceiling opened up and it then took the car up into what was like a completely different room. up above. Sitting in front of us now, was my car that had been lifted up. This was the Flukemobile. It was a dark gray white white lights, a slick car that could dodge between shadows. On the sides, it even had guns that popped out.
"Wow," Michael looked in awe at the car.
"Hop in, boys. Let’s go fight some crime." I whipped the keys from my pocket and hopped in the driver’s seat.
We whizzed out of the driveway in the Flukemobile, going fast, but not exceeding the speed limit. We had to get the cops to like us.
"So, how are we going to find people to save?" Ashton asked.
"I think that we’ll drive slowly once we get into the city and cruise around, because that is where most of the crime happens anyway.” I replied. “It’ll be good. We’ll save some people.”
We came into the city, going slowly. We pulled up alongside a short boy getting beat up in an alleyway by his classmates. I parked the cars quickly and we got out.
"Ready, gentlemen?" Ashton asked.
"As ready as I’ll ever be," I replied.
