We had no word from Michael after he had runoff to save Meg, so well figured it had gone well. We also figured we would hear about whatever had happened soon enough.
We drove the Flukemobile back without Michael, knowing that he could manage getting himself home perfectly fine. I dropped off Calum and Ashton at their places, then took the car home, but I didn’t want to go inside just yet.
I closed the garage door quietly, then walked down the street away from home. As I turned the corner, I heard yelling coming from one of the houses.
"Don’t you just walk away from me like that!" It was Christ, he was dropping Bri off at her house. "Come back here right now!"
"She stormed towards her house, "I’m not a dog, Chris, Get out of my driveway! Don’t come around here anymore!” It looked like she was crying.
"Why are you so mad at me, baby?" He ran to her, and then tried to get close to her.
She hit him on the chest a few times, “No! Don’t touch me, don’t come near me, Chris! We are over! Just get out!” She slapped him across the face and then he left for his car in a big huff. He closed the door and pulled away quickly, then sped down the street, away from the house.
I watched her sit down on the curb once he had gone, she sobbed with her face in her hands. I was only a house away now, so I started running towards her.
"Hey," I said, crouching down next to her. "Are you okay?"
"I’m guessing you saw all of that," She said, wiping her eyes, but that was no use because more tears were coming.
I nodded, then sat down next to her, “I’m sorry, Bri.” I put my hand on her back, rubbing it in circles. “What happened?”
'he was trying to pull his moves on me, “She cried harder, then she threw her arms around me, pulling me into a hug. I put my arms around her, suddenly feeling like the luckiest guy in the world.
"It’s okay," I stroked her hair. "He’s gone now. Now you’re just stuck with little old me." I smiled.
I heard her laugh a little bit. “Yeah,” She pulled away. “If only Chris had social skills.”
I laughed, “Well, I don’t think you should have expectations as high as those for him. He’s never been the nicest guy.”
She rested her head on my shoulder, “If only guys were more like you, Luke.”
A smile appeared on my face as soon as she said it. This was so exciting to me.
"Are you sure about that?" My cheeks were getting warm.
"Positive." She turned to look me in the eyes dead on. "Luke?"
"Yeah?’
"Have you ever had a girlfriend?"
I didn’t know whether to lie or to be completely honest. But the truth sounded like a better option, “No.” I pushed up my hair with my hands. “I know, it’s super embarrassing.”
"No! It’s totally not, it’s super cute actually!" She smiled. "Have you ever kissed a girl?"
I shook my head at that as well, and began to open my mouth to speak, but instead she kissed me. Then and there, I was suddenly kissing the girl of my dreams. She was weaving her fingers in my hair and making me never want to leave the curb in front of her house.
She pulled away, eyes going directly to my lips, then connecting with my eyes again. “How’s that?” She grinned, looking beautiful as the setting sun cast an orange glow on her face.
"i had no idea hat you could ever kiss like that."
"Well, there’s always more where that came from."
