FIRST-PERSON POV.
I sat down. If these things kept coming back it could be a bad problem. Really bad. Seeing as Cactus almost died to one.
I wondered why she was even out there in the first place, and why she was always so quiet.
I felt a cool wing wrap around me and looked at Cyan, who seemed to have noticed my tension and came to comfort me. Which, this was surprising, because normally haughty IceWings like her weren't supposed to feel bad for others. I blinked and she turned her head away from me. Was she embarrassed?
Whatever. I was grateful anyways, as the sun had started to get me hot and it did help settle my nerves. I shuddered softly.
"Thank you," I whispered to her. I still felt scared but knowing I had someone there to stand by my side helped. I was suddenly hyper-aware of Cyan, and felt a little awkward and a little nice sitting there. I tried to ignore these thoughts and this weird shape of an emotion that I couldn't quite make out. What was it? Happiness? Joy?
I turned my attention to Rocky, who was talking softly to Cactus and occasionally whispering things to Dove. Ray had gone off to make sure there were no more wolves around and Apple had went with him as she always did.
I leaned into Cyan, only slightly and it was an accident. But it immediately removed my fears from my mind, feeling safe here with Cyan.
