CACTUS.
FIRST-PERSON POV.
There was definitely a catch. Because we aren't just gonna pop out of here, no. Yesterday the elevator disappeared. Completely. Just turned into grass, now we try digging it up and it's one-hundred percent gone.
I frowned, tilting my head, and Dreamstalker wilted a little. I keep forgetting he knows each emotion I have, but I have little regret for making him feel bad.
He looks up again, much less excited. "There is a cabin around here with a painting of a city where you come from. Simply touch it and you will be there... but only one dragon can go through."
I stared at him. "And how would you know any of this?" I snapped. He shrugged. "I've lived here for a while."
I was considering using it. Just disappearing and leaving the others here to rot. But for some reason I couldn't. Maybe it was sweet Rocky or fragile Starshine. I shook my head. And also, I was done with talking for today. I turned to walk off, my 'friend' fading away again as I forced him out of my mind.

A few minutes later...

STARSHINE.
FIRST-PERSON POV.
Me and Cyan we're walking back to the camp, she was quiet and I was eating some berries. we both froze when we heard talonsteps nearby.
I glanced to my left. Nothing. To my right, however, there was a glint of yellow scales. I glanced at Cyan, but she was already sneaking up on them. There was a yowl as she lunged at them.
I ran over, surprised. Cyan had already gotten off of Cactus, who was glaring at her. What was stranger, however, was that Cactus was supposed to be in the hut resting. So why had she come out here?
