Chapter 44

Sharon's Pov

The stag and doe was in full swing. I was sat on one of the benches with Chad and Jinkx watcching the bonfire flames dance. "What's on your mind baby?"

"Nothing but I think I just saw someone I haven't seen for a while, mind if I go talk to them?"

"Go for it." I placed my can down on the ground and made my way around the bonfire to where I had seen the blonde I had once loved. 

"Do you mind? No? Thanks." I grabbed Alaska's arm and pulled her away from the guy she was talking to. "Ugh it's you."

"I thought you weren't coming?"

"Change of heart."

"Why are you here?"

"It's not like I wasn't invited."

"Your reply said fuck off."

"Like I said change of heart."

"Um excuse me, can I have my date back?"

"Date?"

"You going to introduce us baby?" The guy said as he placed his arm around Alaska's waist making my stomach knot. "Gabe this is Sharon, the bride, Sharon this is Gabe my new boyfriend." Gabe kissed her neck making her giggle. 

"So how did you two meet?"

"Willam and Courtney actually set us up didn't they love."

"Yup and well it was earlier today we actually got together."

"Right we're gonna go get drinks now Sharon." The started to walk away, "Oh, before we go, nice necklace." Alaska winked before walking off with Gabe. My hand clasped the promise ring which hung on a chain around my neck. 

"How's the party going?" Willam asked as she wrapped her arms around my waist and rested her head on my shoulder. "Why didn't you tell me Alaska was coming?"

"Oh shit, i'm sorry Sharon it just slipped my mind."

"And why didn't you tell me she's moved on and got a boyfriend?"

"What? She has a boyfriend?"

"You know, Gabe."

"Oh I know about him but I didn't know they were a thing already anyway I didn't think it was that important to you now you have Chad?"

"I guess it just hurt seeing her happy with someone else."

"Hold up, do you still have feelings for her?"

"Fuck off." I stormed back over to Chad and Jinkx leaving Willam looking stunned. 

"How was your friend?"

"Good." Chad put his arm around my shoulder and I nestled into him. 

"The fireworks are about to start."

"I love you Chad."

"I love you too." The fireworks started to explode; lighting up the sky. I looked around at the scene: people dancing, people watching the fireworks and people roasting marshmallows on the fire. My eyes lingered on two figures by the edge of the trees. The were kissing. My heart sank. "I'll be back." 

"Are you okay?"

"I'm alright." I quickly got up and made my way back to my hotel.
