Bottled Sunset

27 3 4

I tried to capture you the sun's escape

To the sea's deep, but I only had my eyes.

I could paint it, yet never the right shape.

If only I could jump and jar the skies!

Instead, I can create a world of words,

A page of wonder for when you are blue,

Words which embody color calls unheard

And rival beauty untamed of the view.

Let bottled crispness take away the strain.

I would preserve night's glitter if allowed.

Mind the night hymn as Atum's gold blaze wanes.

Watch ribbons blanket sunset's solemn vow.

Know that I would create it all for you:

Stuff time in a jar just to see the view.
