“Well, here we are,” Apollo’s voice boomed as they each separately landed on the little island in Greece, Jeremy’s arm around Amanda, carefully steadying her so she wouldn’t fall over, “Beautiful sunset out tonight. Artemis must have brought down the sun for me while I was helping you guys. See it?”
“Yup,” replied Jeremy.
“I see it,” smiled Amanda, laying her winged sandals out on the beach and putting her toes in the water.
No more than a couple seconds had passed, when her eyes fluttered once, twice, three times, and hit the rock on the side with a loud CRACK. Amanda sat up with a jolt. She clutched her head, which was oozing out blood, with one hand, and her stomach with the other, “Oh no, I’m gonna be sick!” her breathing grew heavy and she shut her eyes.
“Amanda!” shouted Jeremy as she let out a series of screams, “Oh no. We forgot to give her the elixir!”
She let out one final scream and then collapsed onto the beach floor, dead. Although she never caused a man to drown himself by singing, her record was not completely clean. She had slowly killed Jeremy with her pain and suffering, and that final scream was the last straw. He had dived into the depths of the ocean, not wanting to live without her.
